I remember exactly where I was when I first watched this. Also, is the new Mission Impossible a Wargames knock-off?
Forty years ago today, three Chicago-area kids skipped high school and decided to go to a @Cubs game.

Although Ferris Buellerโs Day Off came out in 1986, the scene at Wrigley Field was from a game on June 5, 1985, with Lee Smith on the mound. pic.twitter.com/09H7XiThF4

The op is incorrect. The movie actually takes place in September, not June. The parade is in September and the game that the movie was filmed in was also in September. Footage from the June 5th game was added in later, nobody in the cast was actually there on June 5th.

Wiki says it was actually released June 11. Not sure where Jun 5 comes from.

If it's september, then why does Ferris talking about having a month left with Cameron and Sloan before they graduate and he goes to college?
ok - good explanation. so twitter is just going off the day of the game. that's kinda dumb i guess. everybody was posting it on slack today at work.Bruce Almighty said:MW03 said:Bruce Almighty said:

You're right, I should have said filmed, not took place. The game that they actually attended was a September game. I watched a documentary about the movie where the June 5th thing was just something fans came up with later because of edited game footage, but there's really no actual date ever mentioned.

The inconsistencies are really what make this movie so not enjoyable.
