I know Gad a little. I worked with him on a project for a while that never got off the ground. Dude is one of the nicest, kindest, most down-to-earth guys in the business. Also responds to emails in a timely manner, which is rare.

Considering the talent he has around him on this, I'd at least give it a chance first.

Let's do a brief rundown

Brooks played Yogurt and President Skroob. He has to at least be Yogurt for a scene or two.

Bill Pullman's Wikipedia lists him as Lone Starr for Space Balls 2. Bill is 72 years old! Christ, Jesus, how is that possible? That means he was younger than JFK when he was elected President in ID4.

Daphne Zuniga hasn't been in a movie since 2018, and hasn't been in a movie that I've heard of since 1989. She was a 25-year-old goddess in 1987 when I was 13.

As mentioned, John Candy (Barf) and Joan Rivers (Dot Matrix) are both dead. They could probably get someone to do Dot Matrix no problem though

Rick Moranis - the heart of the film - is also 72, and the lead graf of his WIkipedia page says " He is set to officially return to on-camera acting by reprising the role of Dark Helmet in the sequel to Spaceballs, which is scheduled for release in 2027." Will be his first live-action movie since 1997's direct to video Honey We Shrunk Ourselves.

Colonel Sandurz is alive, that's something, hell he's only 79.

Prince Valium is out there, he's 70. And I just realized via Wikipeia that he was on both Too Close for Comfort and ALF when I was a kid. I feel like I just found the last room in National Treasure, good lord.

Ran into him at Disney world. I was almost at the front of the line to ride the Rocking Roller coaster and the vip usher brought him right to the front with what I assume was his family. But this was during covid and we had to wear masks so I didn't know it was him until he started talking. At first I couldn't place him then I dawned on me after he got on the ride. Seemed nice.
