How long do you want to ignore this user?
About a month ago I was traveling for work, and I stumbled in to a series called "Long Way Home" featuring Ewan McGregor and his pal Charley boorman prepping to ride vintage bikes across Europe
But an episode in, I noticed that this is the 4th installment of the show, so I went back and watched the first three seasons to get the back story.
If you haven't seen this show, clear space in your phone, or make it the wind-down show before bed each night. It's absolutely fantastic
Season 1 takes these two and a crew from London to New York City, the long way round through Russia, Mongolia, hop a flight to Alaska and then through the US to arrive in NYC.
Season 2 goes from Scotland to the southern tip of Aouth Africa
Season 3, done on electric Harleys, goes from Patagonia up to Los Angeles
The scenery of this show is incredible. Places that none of us will ever go to, off the beaten path and then some fill the screen and your head
The group of guys all seem legitimately human while being on a camera for the treks
I've never been a motorcycle rider, but it really has me considering looking into it as I get into my 40's.
In a time full of politics and sports anger, this show is a great escape.
You can download all of it now on Apple +

4 1/2 thumbs up

I've been watching the latest season but I didn't even realize they had previous seasons! I know they had been doing this for awhile but I didn't realize they had made a show out of it previously.

Great show.

They're European actors with a bit of environmental silliness in their minds. But, I think it was equally the challenge of actually riding a prototype (at the time of filming) across an undeveloped region of Earth and pushing the boundaries of what the tech can do. They don't beat you over the head with going green in the show. And frankly, there's a good amount of frustration and anxiety that they have through the series about it.
I work in the O/G sector, but I still enjoyed it. The social aspect of the bikes doesn't take away from the show. And good grief, I had no idea how rugged and high elevation large parts of South America are

Pause watching the latest season and go all the way back to 2004 for their first trek. It's by far the better way to watch it

Remember seeing an episode a couple years ago (I believe in Australia?). Didn't realize it was a whole multi year series. Going to start with the first series and work my way through. Thanks for the tip.

They haven't done a season through Australia, but I've read that it's in consideration, along with a zig-zag back and forth through the US

When Top Gear was at its zenith, the 3 guys would do their finales, and then copied it with The Grand Tour one-offs. They were highly entertaining, but they were more scripted and shorter in total time spent.
Part of the allure of these seasons is that they're pushing though the whole 13, 15, 19 thousand miles through some of the worst "roads" you can imagine taking a bike or truck on. They're out on the wild roads for 3/4 months.
If I hit the lottery, this is what I'm doing with my winnings.

Ah I know why I didn't see the previous seasons now - at least on Apple they are listed as separate series - long way up, long way down, and long way round.

Few episodes in season 1. Interesting so far. Feels like a very voyeuristic view of a celebrity's personal life that is surprising and extremely interesting at the same time. Look forward for the road ahead.

Season one is great. Season two is good. Season three didn't bother to finish.

Just watched Season 1- good reminder on how far cell phones have advanced the past 20 years.
