I had this totally original idea last night, so I thought I'd put something together, will try to start the tournament next Monday the 30th and go on for most of July. Anyone can think of a format I'm all ears.
I've come up with 285 entries but I certainly have not seen every film. That's where you come in.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
1. The actor CANNOT have played the character in a film that came out before 2000.
This unfortunately eliminates the likes of Keanu Reeves from The Matrix (99), Tom Cruise as Maverick because Top Gun came out in the 80s, or Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan because of The Phantom Menace.
2. The role CANNOT be about a real-life person from the last 200 years.
So Gary Oldham doesn't count as Winston Churchill, but Richard Harris does as Marcus Aurelius since nobody actually knows what he was like.
