Also, to be clear, even though season one was set in the DCEU, and season two is now set in Gunn's new DCU, all of the events of season one are cannon, except for the final bit where the DCEU Justice League showed up. So, yeah, a little confusing, but apparently it's addressed in-show as well.

Season one of this show has to be one of the most surprising seasons of any show I've ever watched. I was not expecting much and thought it was absolutely great.

My son (9) hasn't watch the show, but has watched the intro. Everyday he comes home from school he walks in my office singing "Do you really wanna..." Good stuff.

It was a decent setup episode for the season.

I wish they had not included the Justice Gang interview in the trailer.

And good lord…that one scene. Makes House of the Dragon seem like a PBS kids' show. I'm no prude…but damn.

Not wild about the new opening. Probably because the last one was so great.

I think Gunn was kinda taking the piss at Disney with that scene. I am going to do my own universe with blackjack and hookers

I saw an interview of James Gunn talking about how he has never worked with someone as clueless about drugs as John Cena. He didn't know how to use a bong but wanted it to look authentic on screen. So they got the prob guys to show him how. He later said the prop guys were like, "Yo John. If you ever want to like practice your skills after filming, we can help you out and hook you up."

I wish they'd bring the original intro song back. I loved it from first listen. The new one not so much.

This season one intro was a fantastic dance number that probably won't be topped. And when I first watched the season two intro last week I wasn't a fan of the change. But this week, I paid attention to the words, and I think the song is a fantastic fit for this season. Viewed through that lens rather than comparing it to season one's intro, I dig it.

As far as episode 2, still strong. Tim Meadows was gold, as was Vigilante as usual.

Having watched that Screencrush video from the DC Universe thread about Gunn's possible plan for Superman and watching this show now as a "found family" ensemble I appreciate it even more.

Tim Meadows ability to deadpan the most ridiculous lines is probably the only reason why that gag worked; and God bless him for it.

This universe has to have a drawback. Been seeing rumblings that this is a very white universe, what if this is where one where his dad and brother "purified" this universe getting praised as heroes.

I read this before watching the episode, so I watched closely (especially the background) and, yeah, there wasn't a single person of color in that dimension. Considering they shot this season in Georgia, near Atlanta I presume, ain't no way that's an accident. Gonna be a wild plot twist.

Especially when you have ARGUS in the main world rolling up to his house with several people of color

Screencruah also pointed out the helicopter scene as very insightful into the brothers character
