Any recommendations of places to hit Saturday? We're trying to uber to the concert but were thinking it might be better to go somewhere early and walk. I haven't ever been to that stadium so not sure what it anything is really walkable.

Things may have changed since we don't play them anymore, but if you have any Aggie stickers on your car, expect to get a parking ticket no matter where you park, or get your car keyed or some other vandalism. Happened every time we went for a game.

Sucks. I went to Waco probably 3-4 times a year while in college with an aggie sticker on my car and never once had an issue.

I've been to that stadium for my kid's marching band competition and while it was easy to walk over to campus, I don't really think there are any walkable bars/eateries nearby. It's been a few years so that might have changed though.

Do they sell beer at the stadium?

Downtown Waco has plenty of bars and restaurants now in walking distance of one another. Was kinda shocked at it all when I went to Waco last year. I was born and raised in Waco and still remember the days where the only two things to do in Waco were I-35 North to Dallas or I-35 South to Austin.

From what I've seen they do. Regardless, I can't imagine Cross Canadian would put this show at an alcohol free venue.

The Brazos Landing is the only thing close I believe.

I'm looking forward to CCR playing Boys from Oklahoma and watching all the Baptists eyes pop out of their head as they cover their ears

Fantastic night of music!

Had a couple good Ags sitting right behind us!

American Aquarium was quite good - I didn"t know them before hand but I'll look them up after seeing them.

Wade Bowen was good.

I went primarily for Shane Smith & the Saints and Turnpike. They're two of my all time favorite bands and both were FANTASTIC - both were total sing alongs for me (T&P to the guys sitting in front of us). I wish SS&S got more than a 30 minute set, they're just criminally under rated. It was my first time to see Turnpike live and loved it....definitely want to see them again at their own show for a full set.

Honestly, I was a little surprised at the turnout for CCR. I
saw then several times back when I was in school and liked them - I know a handful of songs and recognize a half dozen others - but 90% of the 40,000 in the crowd were there FOR them. The other bands were just bonus for them. Super cool to see.

The guest cameos were awesome - Randy Rogers, Pat Green, Django Walker, and REK (another of my all time favorites). REK sang My Hometown in memory of Charlie Robinson....one of the highlights of the day.

Took my high school son and it was great sharing the day with him.

Really great show!

The stadium was nice looking but very frustrating. Compared to Kyle Field for the George Strait concert, Mcclane stadium was sub-par.

Our parking lot we had a reservation in was "full" when we got there so we walked 25 minutes from the other parking lot.

Standing in line for 30 minutes for a beer and the credit card machines go down.

Next time in line for a beer they RAN OUT of beer when we were fourth in line.

Music was incredible. Also lots of Aggies all around us.

Absolutely epic concert all around.

I was definitely there to see Ragweed because I have never seen them live. Seen Cody Canada several times. Show was way better than expected. Just rocked out for 2 hours

That unexpected cameo by REK was spectacular

I can never get enough of seeing Turnpike live. They just have great musical chemistry. Felker is like George Strait. He just stands there in one place boringly, but the music is just so killer

Anyone who missed this show will have a chance to see them again. They announced another show next April back in Stillwater

That was a really good show. We caught SS, Turnpike and Ragweed. All three sets were solid.

It was old school REK too, he stood up while he sang.

If you're looking for more new music beyond American Aquarium, Tanner Usrey was the cameo during SS&S, and he's great as well.

I just ran across a video of them singing happy birthday to Randy Rogers and the subsequent "F*** you, Randy Rogers". I'd forgotten that happened.

Really wish they would just go on tour instead of playing these one offs in sh**hole towns.

Great to see them getting a gig like this. If you get the chance to catch them in a smaller venue, they put on a great show.

Cross is probably the most iconic band from my youth for me. I've seen them at least a dozen times plus several Departed shows.

This was the happiest I've seen Cody on stage in a long time. They were all just having a blast up there reliving the glory with their kiddos.

Shane Smith was easily the best 2nd best act there that night. Turnpike just didn't seem to bring the energy to keep the crowd engaged.

I dont get how Shane Smith is popular. His monotone voice and lack of vocal range is annoying beyond belief. ymmv

I don't understand how they're not headlining...to each their own
