I'm in but struggling to find some of the live content I want to watch. I'm looking for options for live college football and FOX News. NFL & MLB would be great but not required. Any options you would recommend? Appreciate the help!

If you want college football, you're going to have to buy the ESPN family of channels. You have to do that through a programming provider, and the cheapest way to do it is through Sling. DirecTV Stream is selling a sports-only package, but it really isn't very cheap.

This sounds like you don't need to go through the provider anymore.

Youtubetv will give you what you are looking for, except the Astros. Unlimited DVR too.

Starting Oct 2 you can get the Fox One and ESPN Unlimited bundle for $40,

Right now you can get the two of them separately but it $50 total.

This couldn't be more false.

Welcome to 2025.

The cheapest way to get ESPN is direct through their Unlimited.

Bolt on Fox One. You'll occasionally need Peacock/Paramount, but the cheaper ad tier is it, bc sports come with ads.

You the man. I'm about to cancel my YTTV and Disney+ account. That's like $100 and get an antenna for my smart and the unlimited ESPN+, Hulu, Disney+ deal for $40'

I only ever watch golf and college football so with the antennae and ESPN I'll have all bases covered.

Thanks for saving me $720 the next 12 months.

FuboTV has the Astros if that matters to you.

I know. Did a trial of FUBo a couple years ago, but didn't like it as much as YTTV

I loved Fubo until it went up about $35 in a couple of months. $10 Price increase, Sales Tax added in around the same time, RSNs added also (no opt out).

YouTube TV has given us most of what we need. I can count on 1 hand the number of times over the past 5 years when we had to look elsewhere to watch the Aggie game. Don't really follow the Astros, so no idea about if YTTV sucks for that.

YTTV doesn't carry Space City Home Network so it is not an option at all if you are into watching the vast majority of Astros regular season games. If all you want to watch is playoffs, then you are good with YTTV.

I don't believe you can get live NBC without paying for the highest tier.

Why would you want to watch the Astros when you could watch the Rangers instead?

Sling is a good alternative if you get decent reception with the old-fashioned over-the-air antennas, like the ones grandpa used to use.

If you just want ESPN for a few Saturday football games, consider Sling's one-day special for $4.99. We are going to be out for several weekends with youth sports travel, so that's how will ride for a while.

If you don't want to be switching between apps, go with YTTV.

Paramount Plus has a $30/Yr Promotion for its lowest package (includes some sports NFL) right now, but only lasts a week or two. Not sure it includes College Sports, but i have a Tablo.

Missing FOX & CBS so not quite all cfb bases covered unless antenna can get those?

Fox and CBS are local via antenna, no? Should be fine.

There is no such thing as cord cutting. It's whack a mole.
willas
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I went through the same thing when I cut the cord. For live sports and news, Youtube TV has been the best all-around option for me. It's got the main channels for college football, plus FOX News is included. NFL is solid on there too, and I've caught plenty of MLB games depending on the network. It's not the cheapest service, but the DVR is unlimited and super easy to use, which makes it feel worth it.
