On par with John Williams in terms of being the true master of his craft. He had Alzheimer's disease.
Great portfolio of his work here, including one of my all-time favorite movies.

The poster below was given to him as a gift from the guy who does the Stranger Things posters.

Early on he did album covers for the likes of the Beach Boys, the Bee Gees, Roy Orbison, Black Sabbath, and more.
After toiling with some B movies - mostly monsters, he did the poster for the 1978 re-release of Star Wars,

Then he was off the races in the 80s - Blade Runner, The Thing, ET, Raiders, Back to the Future, First Blood, The Goonies, and a million more.
He did the logo for ILM and everything Lucas did.
He is the rare artist who was commissioned to do work in Stephen King's Dark Tower Universe. He made a painting of Roland Deschain that appeared as an Easter Egg in Frank Darabont's "The Mist"

He came out of retirement a few times to do special work, like The Force Awakens and How to Train Your dragon. In 2025, his wife revealed he'd had Alzheimer's for several years.
if you like his stuff or just want to watch an interesting doc, this came out in 2013.It starts with him doing the movie poster for The Phantom Menace.
