If you didn't see the original Black Phone, it didnt get a huge amount of publicity but was a really solid thriller. It was Rated R but was appropriate for older mature teens, my 14 year old daughter absolutely loved it. Some language, but no nudity or sexuality.

The 2nd movie is every bit as good but much more intense and supernatural. The acting is top notch, Ethan Hawke is really showing himself to be one of the best American dramatic actors in the game right now. Reminds me a lot of Paul Giametti, not a guy who gets a ton of fanfare but absolutely rocks every role he plays.

I think the movie would still be appropriate for mid-teenagers( but there are 2 fairly gory scenes, one especially gory and graphic having to do with a window, but that's pretty much my only warning. Still some fbombs, but nothing sexual and no nudity.

I would give it a solid 3.5/5 go see it at the movies.

Also, I didn't realize Thames was only 18. I thought he had the Ralph Macchio thing going on where he played teenagers but was in his late 20's. He should have a long great career in Hollywood, really impressive acting range.

Gotta love America right. Gore and violence are totally fine, but no nudity. JK

I'm a traditionalist Catholic; blood and gore is kind of our thing.

saw this last night and it was very enjoyable. it was actually a lot better than I anticipated. Perfect run time. Great acting. A bit of a modern day nightmare on elm street.

I really enjoyed this one. Might even have liked it more than 1.

Had vibes of the original BP meets The Shining. Heavy Stephen King and Nightmare On Elm Street vibes too.

Admittedly I thought the final climax of the movie felt a little rushed and convenient, but I enjoyed the rest of the movie enough that I still liked the movie overall.

Loved the extra bit of lore and backstory they added too.
