My wife added Hulu to our existing Disney subscription and it is the last streaming service that we've never had. That being said - I ran an AI search on best Hulu shows and saw The Bear as one we will check out.

However - I wanted to crowd source the TexAgs opinion on this. What are the other shows I should check out? We are mostly interested in dramas but if it's something else we'll check it out. Thanks in advance.

If you are a Martin Short or Steve Martin fan: Only Murders in the Building.


Honestly, there is just so much there that I often enjoy just turning on The Wonder Years and seeing Kevin and Winnie deal with her moving to a different school. That's enough entertainment drama for me sometimes.

I have been rewatching a lot of older shows that I love like Cheers, NYPD Blue, Boston Legal, etc. Looks like they just removed NYPD Blue though.

The Bear is great.

Highly recommend all of these. I never saw the dropout, might check that out this weekend.

I enjoyed Normal People. Romantic drama with two awesome actors.
I'm about to start the Low Down with Ethan Hawke.

Hulu app to shut down in 2026, content to be fully integrated with Disney+

Probably more mini series and movies than TV shows I would recommend

Mini Series:
The Looming Tower - quite simply one of the best TV series ever made, the entire FBI/CIA back story before 9/11. Jeff Daniels is amazing.
Dopesick - Michael Keaton miniseries about the opiod crisis and big pharma

Movies:
Palm Springs - hysterical groundhog day like plot with Andy Samberg, Kristin Milloti and JK Simmons
Free Solo - documentary of Alex Honnold climbing El Capitan

TV
Only Murders In The Building - is great fun, don't take it seriously at all Martin and Short lunacy
Letterkenny - if you appreciate really dry canadian humor
Fargo - first 3 seasons are must see

Fargo, Bear, and Only Murders are all fantastic, Devs is also really good though a shows that's probably not to everyone's taste. I'm halfway through The Lowdown which has been fun, Chad Powers is also an easy watch and lots of fun older shows like Justified and Friday Night Lights.

The Predator animated film is also really fun if you're into that.
