Trailer for tomorrow is out if you want to watch:

Can't wait for tomorrow! I'm going to go ahead and call it that Thaddeus saves Maximus, gets really ****ed up doing it, and is saved by the super mutants at the end of the episode, or he accidentally draws the deathclaws to all the Freesiders. Also, I think Coop finds his family but leaves them in cryo, not wanting his wife and daughter to have to live in the wasteland. Finally, Lucy puts the mind control chip on her dad.

Ok just got though rewatch of the S2:E1 and Hank is definitely reaching out to Mr. House
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
No. He says, "...where you all left off." in that message. House worked alone. I think he's actually talking to The Enclave, and the vault he's in is an Enclave vault. That's why it isn't built like the others, and it would explain why Welch's head is there. It also explains his commentary on different vaults making progress on different aspects of the mind control device, because The Enclave seems to be the group actually running Vault-Tec and the experiments. He also probably wouldn't need to go to Global Comms to contact House.

ETA Although the thing on her head is the same thing house was wearing to interface with his computer, so maybe it is him and he captured and used Welch. I will think it's The Enclave and they're using tech they got from House though.

I think the "all" is the vaults he had access to do the research.

Ok I just went back and here are his quotes from the clip that support whey I think it is him he is reaching out to.

"Nobody in Vault-Tec knows I am here....know much of anything anymore....I don/t doubt you are alive...you spent so much time calculating how to survive all possible contingencies...I am in Vegas these days, back in your old stomping grounds, actually...trying to pick up where you all left off. He then goes to talk about the mind control chips.

I think the comment about old stomping grounds, calculations, and the control chips are key

Could be the president or Enclave leadership. They also did all of those things. Hank also seemed especially interested in the chip when House's double brought it to Vault-Tec. IMO the twist is that the cold fusion diode was always going to The Enclave. It could be that it's House, since he tells the Ghoul that everyone works for him eventually, but I think maybe he was working for The Enclave the whole time. He seems to know a lot more about the vaults and the experiments than he should for just being Barb's assistant.

Also, the 31'ers were going to contact the investors using the equipment Norm was using to try to contact Hank or Lucy. I think that's a line to The Enclave, and they're the ones who have always been running the show.

Correct reference, but "make an appearance" might be too generous of a description

Great season. This is good standard in how you adapt video games. Mail the look, feel and, vibe of the games. Loosely adapt the best game plots with characters we care about.

The de-aging of Kyle MacLachlan is really good too.

So many questions for next season, but this one was fantastic! Hopefully with the multiseason renewal they're already in production and the wait won't be so long.

I have expected an announcement at the end that Fallout 5 was going to be you playing as Walter Goggins going to Colorado to find your family.

That was a really, really, really good season of TV. They did such a good job developing strong, compelling characters and dropping them in a sandbox familiar to all of us who played the games. I'm in awe at how well they've managed it.

There will be a LOT of storylines to juggle with all the fuses that were lit this season, but I can't wait to see where it all goes. Here's hoping they have a plan and stick the landing.

Possibly of note - Fallout 1 and 2 (both set on the West coast) were developed by a company called Interplay. Interplay went out of business before it could launched its planned Fallout 3, resulting in the IP being sold to Bethesda, which modernized and switched coasts for the setting, moving Fallout 3 to the DC area.

The code name for Interplay's cancelled game was Van Buren. It was to be set in Colorado.

Maps from earlier this season have already made reference to places from Van Buren design docs.

I wonder how much of that cancelled sequel will come to life in Season 3.
Thanks and gig'em

Horrible show, just nothing but leftist **** propaganda and social engineering. It's like watching a rachet woke whiny leftist woman preaching every week how DEI should look. Terrible

Come on. Coop fought the commies in the Sino-American war in Alaska in T-45 power armor. He was fighting against the leftists.

The 4 adjective woman you feel so strongly about developed a drug habit and became a bit murdery.

As far as DEI I'll concede the mutant lobby made them cast a ghoul as one of the three leads.

Someone's mad The Enclave are pictured as the bad guys.

This is what happens when an F16er gets out of the cage. Someone tell them to come get their boy.

It's hilarious because there is literally nothing about any of the Fallout factions that mirror our left and right politics. It's basically, all powerful people are looking to live forever and subjugate the populace. Anyone who is a current liberal or conservative can find parallels in the various factions of the worst of their ideology. That's literally the point of Fallout: "Everyone wants to save the world, they just disagree on how."

After some thought, my thoughts on the season and predictions for season 3 are:

The Enclave is in Canada. That's why Hank went to Global Comms, and the Enclave base shown was in snowy mountains. It's also possible it is in Colorado though, and that's where Barb and Janey are.

I didn't see Steph and Hank being married. I think that gives new meaning to the S1 Ep 3 conversation between Steph and Norm about the surface dwellers after Norm suggested they kill them. She said they killed her husband and if Hank were there he'd do the right thing. The Enclave pip boy was interesting. I hadn't considered that. I thought it was a nice touch that there was a copyright on the boot up screen. Also, how do those batteries last 200 years?

It seems like 32 & 33 were always an experiment for The Enclave. I think most of 31, and maybe Bud, thought it was a Vault-Tec experiment. Seems like only Hank and maybe Steph actually knew what was supposed to happen. I have to wonder how much Hank actually told Steph.

Claudia is a plant. I don't know if she's a Canadian plant that Steph got in or if she's an Enclave plant, but there's no way she got a spot in 31 otherwise. She will play a big part in Season 3.

Can't wait to see Liberty Prime. What is Dane still doing with Quintus? What is The Commonwealth fighting (hinted at by Xannder) that is so much worse than the wasteland?

The NCR or someone high up in it is under Hank's mind control. I think they're programmed to obey the President, or whoever is controlling The Enclave. When Welch tells Lucy to kill her and, "Stop him," that's who she's referring to, not Hank.

We will see the super mutants as a much larger faction in season 3. I think maybe they help the NCR defeat the Legion, or the Legion is forced to join forces with everyone else. There will be some kind of team up as everyone finds out that The Enclave has been running the show, and that's where Hank's machinations will come to a head (or they will drive that team up).

I'm really impressed with how a lot of details tie together throughout both seasons and how things are heavily hinted at and hidden in plain sight. This whole show is really, really well done.

Season 3 predictions:

- That NCR battalion will see it is outnumbered by legion and reveal the NCR has been reconstituting to the east (New Colorado Republic, maybe?) and lead an evacuation of Vegas toward the East with Lucy and Maximus
- Caesar's legion will occupy Vegas, Macaulay Culkin will meet House, who will make a deal - You help kill the Enclave and I'll help you kill the NCR, which will send them East as well. Legion now "works" for House, but it's tense.
- BoS will introduce a new character who will be sent by Quintus to retrieve tech to build Liberty Prime. His quest takes him east into Colorado as well or West toward Norm and the vaults.
- East Coast BoS will show up in Colorado for characters to engage with.
- The super mutant we met will be in Colorado, too, bc why not.
- Ghoul is already headed east. This sets up a largely Colorado-based season with several factions in conflict.
- Meanwhile back west, storylines with Norm and the Vaulties intertwine. We discover whatever Phase 2 was. Or maybe Norm heads east looking for Lucy and we see him engage with Legion, House, and perhaps a pacified father in Vegas. (Maybe he even figures out how to unwipe his dad's mind, which becomes critical for de-chipping whoever Hank sent into the wastelands). I am also starting to suspect that Steph will ultimately be the person to take down the latest enclave threat in a moment of self sacrifice (revenge for Canada.)
- Chicken dude … not sure. Lucy killed the "mainframe," but the legionnaire was still under Hank's control, so I don't know if everyone from the management vault is free or not.
ABATTBQ11

I think the chips are preprogrammed and not governed directly from the mainframe, so destroying it would have no effect.

Good point about Steph vs The Enclave. I wondered earlier about why she specifically wanted in a vault, and that may be why. I wonder how much and what she knew about the vaults and The Enclave before she met Hank.

I don't think everyone just leaves Vegas, but you might be right. I think Lucy meets House, and that's how she learns more about what Hank was doing. They might have to team up to stop The Legion.

Stage 2 is likely FEV. The guy from 31 hinted at it, and he was going to contact the investors, who we now know to be The Enclave.

This is a great show. I probably haven't enjoyed watching a show this much since the early seasons of GOT.
As a non-gamer I don't catch any of the Easter eggs or have any idea where the story is going. I'm a little fuzzy on the timeline of the bombs dropping and when we see Coop arrested in Vegas. It feels like once the president got the diode it would be quickly after that. Is that enough time for Coops family to make it to Colorado? She obviously thought it was better for her to be there than in Vegas.

Steph initiating Phase 2 felt like a panic move and not as some part of of a well devised plan. After 200 years in phase 1 I would think the move to phase 2 would be much discussed. Unless phase 2 was something only she or Hank could give the go ahead for.

They have done a good job of developing the different factions but I think in season 3 we see it whittled down to just 1 left standing vs the Enclave. I also expect to see more Deathclaws in Colorado since we saw them in the cold of Alaska as well.

One thing that worries me as someone who has played the games several times through is that they are covering a TON of lore really fast. The games were mostly personal journeys of the characters you played mixed in with regional struggles and a little bit of the greater lore.

We're not just making strides in the history we now know, we're making huge leaps. So much more information in 2 seasons on how the wasteland came about than there was in 5 games. What's the end game for this show? If the Enclave is the big baddy for the entire IP, can they afford to defeat them in the tv show?

Also, Steph, the Canadian, had to teach American history with her ex? husband's offspring (I don't think Lucy is Steph's kid). That's brutal.
Average Joe
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Deathclaws are everywhere. The games take place in Vegas, California, DC/Virginia/Maryland, West Virginia, and Boston (the Commonwealth they mention in the show). They are in all of those locations. They are the alpha predators over everything and spread decently fast.
