We kept our reservations for our hotel in Fort Worth even though we are not going to the Cotton Bowl. Our room has a bar but more importantly a little shelf with some great books on it. So other book lovers add places you find with some interesting books.

I'm not sure why your post reminded me of the time I went on a cruise with my high school daughter who was probably 15 at the time. She was gone for a few hours and I thought she was off having fun on the ship.
It turns out she was in the ship's library organizing the book shelves because they were so disorganized and nobody had put the "returned" books back where they belonged.

I have left a signed copy of one of my wife's books when staying at a hotel several times when on tour. Sometimes we will leave a copy and snap a photo for social media so someone can find it. It's usually pretty selfish though because it means one less thing to pack in my suitcase and lug home.

I once stayed at a VRBO in Jackson, MS. There was a large library of books. Many of them appeared to be childhood/young adult books that there children had read because the same name was in them. I picked up a copy of "To Kill a Mockingbird." I had read it years ago, as part of my personal goal when I was younger to read "The Classics." But this was copy that the son had used to study it in school with a lot of handwritten notes. Having not read it for a school assignment, it gave me a completely different experience the second time around.
