star trek was like, "we need an acolyte" and producers were all, "hold my blood wine cooler"
I want to see a photo of the writer's room.
I think you know what color hair they all have.
Color? As in singular color? It's definitely a plethora of colors

Here is how I fix Star Trek and probably everything else. Admit it's okay that minorities and gays do not care about science fiction. Go overboard on sex and violence. Sydney Sweeney as the new Kirk. Get horny white male nerds to write all episodes. No social media presence whatsoever. Anything published online good or bad about the show will result in immediate legal repercussions. No cgi

Terrible idea. Show would end after S1E1 when Captain Sweeney somehow clips something in hyperspace careening the Enterprise out of hyperspace too early and off into the void of unknown space.

My plan to fix Star Trek: All new Trek was just Jake Siko's s**t attempt at writing a holosuite adventure and can be disregarded for all eternity as it is no longer canon.
Update from my CBS Insider:

Skydance views Alex Kurtzman as a major liability. Their Saudi investor arm is extremely anti-woke and doesn't want gay crap in their programming and the low viewership of Starfleet Academy has drawn their eye.

Well well well...
Not Star Trek but it looks like we'll be getting a new live action Gundam movie starring...Sydney Sweeney. Given how sexist some of the Gundam anime is this could be interesting. This one will be on Netflix.

SA, while not off to the greatest start, today's episode was an hour of great television and performances. Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti were exceptional together. Favorite episode of this show so far by a mile.

EXCLUSIVE: “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” will end with its upcoming second season.

The show failed to find a significant audience, not ranking on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming viewership charts at any point during its 10-episode first season.https://t.co/fm9WDRNWzv pic.twitter.com/HnjBxysNqz

Well, I managed to watch the whole first 2 episodes. I wouldn't call it horrible. Its definitely for a different audience than traditional Trek, but that's not always a bad thing. Not sure Holly Hunter's hippie vibe really works here, but I do like her as an actor in general so I can look the other way there. The Klingon will definitely end up gay. Surprised they didn't go the pronoun route with the hologram girl - props for them not going there (at least so far).
I'll continue to watch and see if it grows on me or not. The first couple episodes of any new series is always a crap shoot - sometimes everyone gels after working together and comes together as a cast, sometimes they don't.
"Gay Klingon" was already done by the Orville… basically

What I'd like to see from the Star Trek Universe:
Star Trek Tapestries
Over the years, the Star Trek Universe has given us countless stories, characters and vignettes that could warrant countless additional storylines and growth of the universe.
What if a new Star Trek Series was created that took advantage of those loose threads of stories and characters.
Consider: Star Trek "Tapestries". A series that takes characters and/or events from any Star Trek episode or movie and then provides single or (multi-part) episodes to show backstories, or continuing adventures, or "the rest of the story", etc… We might ask, "I wonder whatever happened to 'Tin Man'? "Tapestries" could show us where Tin Man came from, or the adventures he and his empathic "pilot" had after they departed at the end of the TNG episode.
I imagine it like this: The "cold open" of the episode would be from the original show that the character or event happened, kind of a "previously on…" as the selected scene ends, it freezes, and the image is converted into a "tapestry" image. The camera then moves in on the specific character, or item, etc… that is the focus of the new episode(s) then zooms in until it focuses on a single thread of the tapestry. As the opening credits/music play, the viewer is treated to a "following" of that thread through the backside of a large tapestry. We see it weaving in and out of the backside of the tapestry with some recognizable imagery from various Star Trek series'. As the credits end, we follow the thread back out the front side of the tapestry and the scene then grows and resolves into the opening scene of the new episode.
Closing credits could have the same imagery, but instead of resolving into a new scene, expanding out to a view of a massive image of Star Trek lore. (small "l" lore, not Lore)
