Driving on highway with windows down but no wind noise and no yelling at each other

Using normal speaking voices in a club. The Social Network addressed this and had them yelling when they did the scene in the club with Parker and Zuckerberg.

Every car that is shown with a main character driving sounds like it has a Chevy 454 Big Block V-8 in it when they start it up and drive away. Even the clunker hoopty rides.

Needs to be outlawed. That inside joke has long since run it's course and it ruins the scene anytime I hear it because it's so clownishly absurd.

The latest Hyundai commercial with John Krasinski even has it although I can look at that example as more of an actual joke making fun of it.

And people having a very loud argument at a table in a crowded restaurant and surrounding diners don't even seem to notice.
You're from down South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

Christopher Nolen also handled this well in The Dark Knight.

Not sure if this has been posted yet because I ain't got time to go through 5 pages, but the lack of hearing damage when firing weapons. There are scenes where characters pop off in a car or an elevator and have no ringing or hearing damage.

I was watching Southland on Netflix last night and the Wilhelm Scream in the above scene felt so over the top/out of place that I get why some productions are now avoiding its use.

That's a pretty good action shot, though.

Ha I loved that show, so maybe I am biased, but the scream actually makes more sense there while bouncing off a roof to your death than it does in most of the clips in the montage a few posts above. It even sounds kind of "latin".

I was genuinely bummed when this show was cancelled. Great cop action/drama. LA was the perfect setting for this show too. About to rewatch on Netflix.

I just discussed this recently with my son while watching Die Hard.

In every driving scene the driver moves the steering wheel back and forth. Who shakes the steering wheel like that to go straight

On an older car there was a lot of play in the steering system.

Too lazy to read the entire thread to see if it's been mentioned, but...when it is painfully obvious the cup an actor is drinking out of is completely empty. I mean, is it that hard to fill it with water?

How they use radios. Always backwards. Who you're calling, then state who you are.

One thing I learned when I became a cop is that the police do it backward from the military.

Military is You, this is Me.

Police is Sender calling Receiver.

No clue why.

One thing I've noticed in older cop shows like NYPD Blue and Law & Order that bugs me is when they show cops in patrol cars that have no proper police equipment except for a radio - no cage for the back seat, no shotgun rack. etc. And the back seats are fully upholstered regular seats, not the hard plastic used in actual cop cars (because it's easy to clean, and doesn't give arrestees anywhere to hide stuff.)

In Law and Order they often show the patrol cops cruising around in their cars in the beginning of the episode when they find the dead body

Not sure if already said, but as an ER doc, I get annoyed with how easily people die from being shot in movies. You shoot someone and they drop dead, instantly. There are only a couple of spots in the body that will do that to someone.

I've taken care of people shot in the head, hit the brain, and he was awake and talking when he made it to the ER.

Also taken care of someone with a deer rifle shot to the heart, made it to the ER, but not much longer after that.

I hate movies & TV shows that are too dark to see what's going on.

I hate moves & TV shows that have actors speak too fast or inarticulately for me to understand them.

I hate movies & TV shows that have actors speaking so quietly that I can't hear them.

I hate movies & TV shows that have unnecessarily loud music our sound effects.

And most of all, I hate movies & TV shows that have actors speak so quietly that I can't hear them immediatley before unnecessarily loud music or sound effects because sometimes I crank up the volume to hear what the person said right before having my ear drums blown out by unnecessarily loud music or sound effects.

Well there is that and there is also the ER docs finding the time to get involved in the patient's personal life. As an ER doc are you saying when you make your rounds you don't save the patient but also save their love life or repair their fractured relationships with their extended family, etc?

When all the members of the NCIS/CSI/Detective/SWAT team/etc finish each other's sentence for no reason about stuff that cannot happen in a matter of minutes or hours or even days.

Person A: This evidence proves the "unsub" is the guy...
Person B: ...because his car passed through the toll booth...
Person C: ...just as the cell towers triangulated his position...
Person D: ...and his DNA was left on the weapon at the scene...
Person A: ...which we were able to verify all within 20 minutes.

You must have loved all of the exposition explanations in Mission Impossible the Final Reckoning that followed this formula many many times in the same movie.

Mine across several films regardless of location...since I was in HS.

The STREET IS ALWAYS WET! There was no rain in the movie or outside a window, yet Joe Schmo got knocked the **** out on a wet street/fell into a wet street...and their clothes are never soiled, dirty, or wet.

Those that have never noted, you're welcome! Now you will see it everywhere.

My wife is an ER doc, and the two things she constantly complains about: CPR consistently being done incorrectly and women giving birth to babies that are obviously weeks old.

Watching sports movies in which the actor or actresses are not athletes.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. An actor will go to immense lengths to learn a specific accent. They'll spend months to gain/lose weight for a role. They'll learn to mimic a famous person's specific idiosyncrasies. Spend a couple of hours learning to throw a ball? F' that. The audience will never notice the difference.

If you watched Cobra Kai series for fun or for serious...Sam (Karate Kid's daughter) is an example of this, being too old to play the role bc OBVI pregnancy weight or something else set in. SO unathletic.

My favorite is when someone flatlines and they use a defibrillator to jump start their heart. That's not what happens... if someone is flatlined, the defibrillator doesn't get their heart to start beating again...

Some surround sound receivers like Yamaha, have a setting that help minimize this. I find it super annoying too, especially when you're trying to keep from waking others.
