I think it's often less about worshipping (or vilifying) the specific politician and more about my side-ism.

At least sexual predator Brett Ratner isn't out of work anymore.

Voted for Trump three times now and this does nothing for me interest wise although I find the First Lady wildly attractive (if you can get past Trump laying on her lol).

I bet a lot of women will watch this once released on Netflix for the same reason so many women fixated on Diana. And of course so many more will fixate on it to hate her, the frumpy pink hairs, that hate everything. LOL

She's actually a pretty interesting person not that anyone on this board would give that time of day.

Yeah, I was planning on seeing it this weekend but became paralyzed with fear that someone would somehow know what movie I was walking in to see and beat me up.

To be fair, 3/4 of the stuff posted on this board is crap that greater than 90% of the population has no interest in.

I'll go see this if it's anything like the last biopic I saw in 2022, which was "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story". That film finally showed the true story on Weird Al, like how he married Madonna and forcefully brought down Pablo Escobar and the Medellin drug cartel.

I personally won't watch this. I think she boring as hell.

I voted for Trump three times.

That being said, I cant stand his constant self
-promotion so I'll be sitting this one out. Plus, I cant imagine why it would be interesting.

But like Gutfeld said, if there's a sequel, call it "Melania 2: Electric Boogaloo"

Putting aside the politics and claims of bribery, I just don't think Melania has a particularly interesting story.

She isn't the first fashion model from a foreign country and in terms of her modeling career, she wasn't all that successful. She didn't move to New York until her mid 20s which is pretty old for a model in the 90s. Her career got another boost when she started dating Trump and he created a modeling agency to promote her. She also had a short run selling jewelry at QVC. But that's basically it. She is best known for being married to Donald Trump.

Part of the problem is that she has always been very quiet and tried to stay out of the public spotlight. People don't really know much about her thoughts, interests, etc. Outside of the Be Best campaign I can't recall any specific work or campaign she has taken an interest in. Add in that she is often overshadowed by Trump and you end up with someone that the public doesn't know a whole lot about and really doesn't have any interest in learning about. If you look at her book sales, it sorta supports that idea. Her book Melania sold well in the first week based on preorders and then it basically cratered from there.

So what about the movie? Well it's not even about her, at least not fully. It's all about her experience in the 20 days leading up to Trump's second inauguration. And quite frankly people don't really seem to give a **** about that story line either.

In the lead up to this week there were 21 invite only screenings planned for this week and all of them were canceled. Amazon also didn't send out any prescreens for the movie. As of this morning it had done about $1 million in presales. That doesn't exactly bode well for a movie that cost $40 million to make with another $35 million spent on promotion.

You sure do know a lot about it for it to not be very interesting to you.

No, I am very picky with what I watch. I would never watch a documentary about any first lady. Or the vast majority of Presidents TBH.

I don't think most of us are part of the target audience.

If we had to make a movie about a First Lady/former First Lady, I would say Hillary.
I can't stand her but she has had an interesting life. Going all the way back to Arkansas with the white water scandal, her husband's sexual harassment of staffers. Bill getting elected prez and her trying as unelected official to implement govt health care. All the "suicides" of close associates. Then become us senator, sec of state and all the crap she did there. Then presidential candidate to snatch defeat from the hands of victory.

Way more interesting than what color to decorate the white house.
