The whip cream bit had me cracking up. Good show, light hearted, always good for a chuckle or two. The cure to DTF St Louis depression.

I made the mistake of watching it without the wife. She was in the living room when I was watching the most recent episode and she got upset after seeing the actors on the show. I told her I can restart with episode one but she gave me the look. Now I need to plan my viewings to make sure she isn't home when I see it.

That's exactly what my wife and I did last night for a palette cleaner after DTF.

Just finished tonight's episode and this show really is hitting its stride. It's nothing special, but always a fun and increasingly endearing. I just really love these characters, the campus, and the quaint, small town vibe. With only three episode left it's nice to already know we're getting a season two.

Good grief. I'm glad I don't have to watch tv with some of the wankers on this thread. No wonder society is so miserable.

The complaints about this show are really really petty and weird to me.

It's funny. I've enjoyed it a lot, probably one of the only shows that really makes me lighten up and laugh out loud.

Gary and Michael Scott together. If this show brings you nothing else, it gave you that!

You have convinced me to add this to my list and watch it

I was hesitant due to the trauma after watching the horrible DTF St. Louis :-)

I binged it over the last several days and loved it. Some of the scenes made be literally lol. Its kind of weird watching a show that pulls actors from several of my favorite tv shows and makes it work. Ted Lasso, Scrubs, Succession, The Office, etc.

Who was in Succession?

Oh never mind.

Alan Ruck.

i love the music in Bill Lawrence's shows.

Did you know his wife Krista Miller does all his shows music coordination?

She did it for free for years on Scrubs.

Turns out she was watching a scene with him and said, this song would be awesome here. and it was.

and now she does all his shows music coordination.

I agree the show gets some weird hate. It's not The Office level great, but it's a fun show that has some great moments. I've laughed quite a bit at some of the scenes. I agree with one of the comments above that it seems like an Apple show and not HBO, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Personally I prefer Apple shows over HBO.

The cast is great!

Yes that's really neat. I love all the music in Tina Fey's tv shows and it's her husband that composes the music

This show is wonderful. Zach Braff involvement explains the quirky.

Episode 1 was a walk down indie lane.

And Michael Stipe sings the intro song. I knew that voice sounded familiar and made me think of all the VC Andrews books bc I listened to the R.E.M. Green Album over and over while reading them.

Someone hold me.

That Violent Femmes song when she was burning the book was perfect.

I agree with it not being realistic. The "white whale" and "walking like an egyptian" incidents were incredibly stupid.

Also, when did people start snapping their fingers rather than applauding?? I saw it also on that "Company Retreat" show on Prime. Is that a real thing now or is it something people in entertainment are trying to normalize?

Yes bc people who are introverts became too sensitive to the loudness of clapping and also bougie wanna be beatniks we're doing it in response to monologues, music, and artistic whatnot.

Stupid. And as Gen X I laugh at it.

Haha. I'm almost 50 and the thought of cruising to the Braum's down the road on one of those had me shopping.

They don't sell them in my zip code though

I haven't commented on the show, but here are my tidbits:

- My wife and I love the show. We watch it Monday nights and leading up to turning it on we're walking around the house singing:

Here they come to snuff the rooster
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die
No, no, no, ya know he ain't gonna die

- Not a big Steve Carell fan, but his timing and comedic lines are top-notch in this one
- The episode 10 title is hilarious: Ludlow's Fourth Hottest Professor
- Sunny's roommate, Mo, is great
- Cristle steals her scenes - all of them
- Hate Archie's character as well as the hockey coach situation
- John McGinley is top-notch in this show

I am really enjoying this new series so far, but one thing is bothering me. Women clearly love Professor Jaime Tart. So, why is his taste in them so pedestrian? Neither his wife or young girlfriend make sense to me.

The girlfriend is cute, the wife isn't, at all.
