Wow, **** cancer. That sucks. I wasn't their #1 fan or anything but their music was always on the radio when I was in HS and college.

This one hits hard for me as my HS friends and I listened to their music all the time. Remember going to their concert too.

47 is way too young. Rest in peace.

Lone Star actually released a version of I'm Already There that had families sending voice messages to their deployed soldiers overseas. I choke up as soon as I hear the opening bars from the song.

It's great to know he was strong in his faith and is with his Savior, now.

Glad I got to see them with Creed in Houston a few years ago. They were a solid show. This had definitely been coming but doesn't make it suck less. Cancer is the worst.

They have a live album on Apple Music that was all recorded in at Cynthia Woods in 2003.

3 Doors Down would basically be the soundtrack to my college days at A&M.

Hits even harder when you realize what an apparently awesome person he was, and how strong his faith was. I saw somewhere that "Away From the Sun" was actually about being away from the "son" (Jesus).

Followed him on IG...was so sad seeing him wither away so rapidly, but his outlook and attitude was truly inspirational. Praying for his wife, all of his friends an family, and even his dog, who appeared to be a very close companion.

It's funny, a lot of these bands I just wasn't into in high school or college, but you would hear their music everywhere you went, sometimes without even realizing it. I find myself loving a lot of their music now, mostly for that nostalgia, but also, mymusical tastes have grown since that time. Third Eye Blind is another one. Heard "Here Without You" at the grocery store the other night and got kind of choked up.
