Did they make you sing and dance on a table or polish a pumpkin with a rag?

I waited for this moment from the first second they announced the movies and in no way did it disappoint. Especially when the music hits at 3:30

Well, now I need to go back. Those hobbit holes were just empty when I went like 10 years ago.
The Green Dragon is a really fun time. I highly recommend that tour for anyone considering Hobbiton.

How old are your kids? During Covid I took mine to Alamo Drafthouse to see E.T. and Goonies. With no new movies launching Drafthouse played the classics in prime time slots like new releases. My kids didn't know they were old movies and absolutely loved them. When E.T. Died my son grabbed my arm pleading with me to say he wasn't dead. It was awesome getting to see them experience these movies in the way they were meant to be watched on the big screen.

Also, I hope OP's personal politics didn't get in the way of his children enjoying the Super Bowl so he could force his own nostalgia on them.
And….its just a football game. Gonna make way better memories with my kids doing things as a family rather than watch a bunch of millionaires throw a ball around for hours every Sunday sitting in front of a tv.wangus12 said:M.C. Swag said:

Lets be honest it was an awful football game to suffer through.

There are a vanishing few mono-cultural events in US and the Super Bowl is always one of them. Obviously no one should be 'forced' to watch anything they dont want and it's good that you want to have bonding time with your family...if that's the true motive. But if you have personal beliefs that instigated the desire to suddenly watch a movie that's been out for 2.5 decades on Super Bowl sunday and withhold from your children the chance to participate in 1 of these mono cultural events...that would be not so cool.

When the Astros are in the playoffs, we watch. If/when the Texans are in the AFC Championship or better, we'll watch. Summer Olympics for men's and women's gymnastics and a few other events, we'll watch.
But we do not care about a bunch of teams we have zero emotional connection to and what they do on a field somewhere. Just ain't interested and I hardly watch the Aggies too….only saw the Missouri and sip game this year….
Sports on tv ain't a priority in my house.
