The teaser trailer dropped this morning and it looks to be a doozy of a season. Much more action expected in season 3 than 2 in my opinion. Time to get this thing started.

Some actual WOW moments in this teaser for sure!

This will be a big season! Unlike season 2 which was big for half a season and then mostly setup for this season.

Yep, HoTD became a huuuge slog to get through Season 2. AKoTSK has been fun from the beginning and Episode 4 was without a doubt better than any single episode of HoTD.

Anyone talking smack about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms hasn't watched it or only watched episodes 1 or maybe 2 and checked out like some dumb ass on the episode thread. If you've watched all 5 episodes and think the show is weak I'm not sure what to tell you.

Anyway, I sure hope HOTD season 3 can bring the goods because season 2 was a freaking throat clearing.

ETA - not directed at you FL_Ag1998 of course.

HOTD is epic, I agree. It just suffers from a glacial pace, an unlikable group of characters & an overwhelming feeling of dread & gloom.... no levity whatsoever. (It sorely needs a Tyrion, Bronn or Tormund Giantsbane type character) That said, I'll be watching & hoping for the best.

HotD is good tv but there really are no characters to root for, that much is true.

That's pretty much what you get when you have source material that is an encyclopedia chronicling a royal house. Daemon was a bad ass until his weird harrenhal dreams.

Still very compelling tv for people that keep up with the song of ice and fire mythos or people who like nerdy sword and sorcery shows.

Season 3 looks to be moving at a faster pace, but there will be one more after this that I'm not sure is needed.

I wonder if HotD is supposed to be kind of like Marvel's Civil War, in which both sides can make an argument for being right.

having never read the book Martin wrote that this series borrow from, I'm guessing we are going to see a lot of dragons die this season. The one death in season 2 was pretty rough, assuming its going to get a lot worse considering the state of dragons when game of thrones started

Well given the fact that dragons are extinct by the time of GoT (and AKOTSK), I think that's a safe bet.
