Anyone watched the first episode ? I have no idea where there show is going to go but the reviews are off the charts.

Haven't seen it but plan to. Great reviews. Rolling Stone calls it a Stephen King Mix Tape with humor.
We are going to start it this weekend. Wife is a big fan of Mr. Keri Russell.
First episode sets the table nicely. Interested to see where this goes...

Bump, watched all 3 episodes the other day, really liking it. Good blend of humor and horror/mystery.

The island already has a perimeter. It's called the ocean.
Also like the mayor's interaction with his staff. Especially after he gave the tourist lady a ride

We are really enjoying this - genuinely creepy with some good jump scares mixed in with comic moments. The tour guide being proud of burning the witches had me dying laughing.
Matthew Rhys has become one of my favorite actors. He has been on Conan's podcast a few times and is absolutely hysterical. The first time he was on the pod he had Conan and his crew absolutely on the floor laughing; it is one of his best episodes ever.

Im all in on this. It's so original and the characters and town are the story.

I've enjoyed it... Leans a little too much towards funny and not scary enough for my tastes, but if Phillip from the Americans and Boz from Halt and Catch Fire think its got legs, I'll support it.
I just worry that makes it a really narrow demographic. Comedy show fans tend to not love horror, and horror fans want something scarier.
I do like that it looks from the end of E3 that we're opening it up and it's not going to be a "monster of the week" type show.

Episode 4 doesn't disappoint!
I don't have any guess as to where the rest of the season is heading, but so far this show is living up to the majority of AppleTV programming. Episode 4 was a sort of stand alone episode, but it was very good
I see how it could struggle to capture large audience due to not being full on horror/gore, and not being zany enough for the pure comedy fans to tune in, but I hope it can push on and keep up the mystery of the island

Wife and I loved Ep 4 -- we think the actress playing the main character did a heck of a job acting in that episode!
My wife and I started watching this late last night and went to bed after episode 2. We're hooked!

Really digging this show and looking forward to Wednesdays each week. It's fun to laugh and then be scared by suspenseful scenes. The directing has been great, especially the last two episodes. Rhys is doing great in this show, especially episode 5. His silent but physical comedy was great.
I'm still trying to figure out what is going on. Is there a main evil that is manifesting itself by different "horrors", is it like the shining that takes people and makes them bad, an ancient evil that haunts the island? Not sure. I wish this show were more popular, especially amongst the YouTube TV show analyzer crowd, like GoT. I could use some smarter folks than me guiding me through their theories, etc.

it's kind of like an amalgamation of all the different legends and stories from the old East Coast towns, particularly the ones on the water. They've blended sea stories, witchcraft, and classic ghost stories and turned it into one giant haunted place. That's what makes it so fun. It's not just one legend that it leans on but several.
Serve the punch now! Thought that scene was pretty creepy. I watched it twice to see if I missed anything and I absolutely did. You could see all the guests reflections and they were all catatonic. Loved it.

Was pretty clear in E5 that it's basically the bold; sounds like more of a curse to be more accurate. The historical chick laid it out when she explained the background on Richard Warren (island founder) and his wife. Remember the cylinder he wears around his neck?
