I know the two realtors, Rusty Lowe & Renee Harvey, very well. I had no idea about this story until I watched it this morning. Heartbreaking

I cried at the end. For both families.

Humankind's capability for evil just keeps on one-uping itself.

I'm really good friends with a couple of the people featured in the show. When this whole thing went down and they were telling me about it, it was off the rails bizarre and hard to fathom as you heard their point of view.

The documentary took that to a whole different level when it was able to show ALL of the junk she was doing and lies she was spinning.

Unbelievable….

Hard to fully comprehend something like this.

Surprised there was no insanity defense.

That was one of the most shocking and tragic documentaries I have ever watched. I had zero context going in and honestly, didn't really think about where it was actually going until about 75% of the way there. I figured the outcome, but I didn't think it was because of THAT.

People with narcissistic personality disorders and psychopathic tendencies are not insane. They're just evil and willing to destroy anyone and anything to get what they want.

This is why you can't entirely dismiss pathological liars like MF Barnes that live a life of complete BS and delusion. You can laugh it off but you never know how far they will take their lies.

I remember watching the hospital bodycam of this b/tch on YT a couple of years ago...had no idea the backstory. Insane. Not a big death penalty guy, but in this case...go for it.

I read the WSJ review of this. It had very good things to say about the woman who made this documentary. Said it's really well done throughout. Certainly going to watch it when I can.

Some of my relatives lived up there when all this went down. I hope I don't see any of them in this.

It's a pretty tight knit documentary.

Unless you know the inner circle of the lady that did the crimes (boyfriend, boyfriend's family, boyfriend's best friends), her former best friend, the victim's family, two realtors in Oklahoma, or the OBGYN and his wife/office manager, you're probably not going to see anyone you know.

95% of the movie is interviews with those people mentioned above, and home videos and photos of the key players. The other 5% is wide shots of New Boston, DeKalb, and Mt Pleasant areas, with a few fabricated scenes of the boyfriend and murderer riding a side-by-side or doing random activities.

It's pretty evident to me that she didn't care about actually having a live baby in the end. She just wanted to get to the hospital with a baby, dead or alive, so she could show her man and prove to him that the naysayers were wrong. In her mind a deceased baby was probably preferable so she could get the sympathy and guilt trip him into staying in a relationship with her without her actually having the responsibility of a baby.

Really twisted lady.

its crazy how similar this was to the murder of Heidi Brousard, which occured less than a year prior.

interesting how they left the brutality of the crime mostly non-specific with how horrifying it was

Quote:

Autopsy reports later showed that Simmons-Hancock sustained 113 sharp force injuries15 stab wounds and 98 incised woundsand 39 blunt force injuries. The medical examiner, Dr. Melinda Flores, testified that two of the knife wounds perforated Reagan's jugular vein, and some were deep enough to reach the bone, and the blunt force injuries, likely inflicted with a hammer, resulted in both a broken nose and five skull fractures. Flores concluded that the cause of death was "homicide from traumatic extraction from the uterus with both sharp and blunt force injuries".[5][13] Dr. Stephen Hastings, a medical examiner from Dallas, determined that the baby died due to traumatic extraction from her mother's uterus and further ruled that the baby's death was also a homicide. Hastings also stated that there were bruises on the baby's scalp and on the umbilical cord, meaning that some of the blows inflicted on Simmons-Hancock's abdomen also landed on the baby, and the trauma to the umbilical cord was possibly due to it being pulled or squeezed during the extraction

That was all kinds of ****ed up. I'm also in the camp of opposing the death penalty, with one of my reasons being that having to live with the guilt the rest of your life behind bars is a just punishment. But that would mean the murderer has a conscience, and in this case, she doesn't, so I'm fine with it.
I also feel terrible for the staff at the hospital where she had her hysterectomy and how they couldn't tell anyone given the circumstances. They knew something bad eventually would happen.

I did some digging into another abduction from Austin/Houston, Heidi Broussard. It happened in December 2019. Wonder if this is where Taylor's idea was hatched?

i remember following this story as it happened and im sure it is mentioned, but they broke the news that it was Megan, her best friend, on live stream while interviewing someone while breaking news came up that they were searching a location in houston.

someone watching the stream pasted in the chat that they found a baby registry linked to that house with the name Megan Fieramusca (edit: It was Maygen something else) and the host pulls it up and mentions it to the woman being interviewed says "oh my God, that's her best friend" and broke the story. then they start to realize that her baby that she claimed to have had two weeks ago might actually be baby that went missing with Heidi.

Megan was also a wedding planner, while Taylor was a wedding photographer...strange the similarities.

Pretty surreal stuff.

Kinda makes me feel sorry for her boyfriend who also had no idea what was up either. And I'm wondering how she got the car in the backyard?

there's a dateline on it (season 28 episode 17: Abducted) about it, but it isnt streaming on peacock for some reason anymore, and a netflix dramatization called Stolen Baby that came out a few weeks ago about it. If I recall, she told her boyfriend that it had mechanical issues and couldnt drive and when he told her she needed to take care of it and move it, she flipped out on him and said she is having enough issues with the new baby as is.

as to how she got it there, I seem to recall from the helicopter view that there was a swinging gate that opened wide enough for a car to get through that gave access to the back yard between the main home and the separated garage

heres a pic that shows the location of her car. you can see the fence behind it.

not saying the bf had anything to do with it, but if you came home and your girlfriend parked her car like this for any reason, it's worth asking her wtf was going on, or at least inspecting it. heidi's decomposing body had been in the trunk at this point for at least a week, so you wouldnt have even had to be sherlock holmes to figure out something was wrong right away. just one of the many oddities that if he had pushed harder on, he might have uncovered much earlier. in his defense, he was shown a flier of Heidi's missing child and immediately identified the child as the one in his house, who he was told was his 2 week old child "Luna".
