Wow I'm glad I checked this thread. I worked in a record store when The Zutons came out and loved their first album and completely forgot about them.

Not really a rock song but the first thing that came to mind is George Michael "Careless Whisper".

I always liked Phil Kenzie's sax work on Al Stewart's 'Year of the Cat' from 1976.


It sounds like Alan Parsons added it after the fact, as it was not an ordinary part of the sound Stewart liked to make.
