Ok guys, it is difficult to type this and still convey what I'm feeling, and i'm not very good at this, but I just have to say...
I personally thank ALL of you who have contributed to continueing this beloved tradition, Aggie Bonfire. Seeing this video just further reinforces the fact that you, the true dedicated souls, are keeping OUR beloved tradition going, and strong. With the adversity you guys face, and the fact that there is zero support from the University, I continue to be impressed every year, and am so thankful for everyone's perseverence.
In 2005, I had an opportunity to drag my old, crusty self back out there for an afternoon of Stack at the track. I was going down to visit my brother that weekend. I got a wild hair, and figured I would take off work a little early Friday, dig out my grodes and pot (still in a trash bag in my attic, and yes they still fit), and go work on Student Bonfire that afternoon. I'm thinking I'm crazy for doing this since it was 1996 when I last worked on Stack. I got out there, and EVERYONE was so welcoming and helpful (thx Slim for helping me find my way!). It was just like old times. Brought my memory right back to being on 2nd stack swing, big 'ole plug of Cope in my lip, Willy Nelson blaring over the speakers... It was awesome!
Again, thanks EVERYONE for your hard work and dedication! I, and many others, GREATLY appreciate your efforts! Gig 'Em and BTHOFTAB!
