Not everyone is so nice.I try to be.Some very sharp and biting replies to simple subjects.Ive tried to write in a common sense way.Not above someone,Not beneath them.I dearly love my fellow Aggies.But some I guess are too sharp for me or their own right.Others are very thoughtfull and nice.Any suggestions to having a better time and being better accepted.God Bless Tygerbeat or XLR8

Advice in general – don’t take it personal and remember that for every person that is nice and respectful to you and engages you in a meaningful way, there are at least 4 that will make up for it! I also suggest knowing a little about the subject you choose to comment on or reply to and try to remember the internet is a great source to learn things - try looking things up on your own before you ask a question. Also remember these general assumptions I have observed throughout the board –

• Old Army is dead
• Every rookie poster is an idiot
• If you misspell anything – your post and related topic is immediately discarded

Nope, you used the word “their” incorrectly; used “they” instead of “they’re”; put a space in front of your comma; and misspelled cyber in “Cyber-bullies.” (If you actually meant to say Cybe – well, that’s stupid, only a rookie or young pro would do that!)

Further, your notion that “they” will hate you and hack you to pieces just because you are new is absolutely false – “they” hate ANYONE for that offense, new and old alike. Heck “they” may not even like you even if you spell everything right – especially if you spell “Tech” or “UT” correctly (sorry, just making a point).

See – isn’t this fun? Kind of like sending a secret note to your grade school sweetheart in class and having the teacher catch you and read it in front of the entire class. It may be exactly what you want to say, and you may even reach the person you wanted to talk to – but every other Swingin’ Richard’s gonna tear it apart!
