How is bonfire coming along? Is it alive and well? How many students are participating? I am class of 2001. I saw bonfires as a kid, a senior in high school and I saw my fish year. Of course, you know the rest. Where can I hear more about what is going on? Any info will help. Thanks and Gig'em!

This is my first year out in the woods and it's been awesome. Things are going good from what I've seen.

Great, I want to come up on Sunday and cut some does anyone know if that is possible? I looked at the directions and can get all the equipment. Would anyone mind if an old ag came up from SA?

They'll make you fill out a couple of forms but other than that, I am sure you will be welcome.

I was an OC HOG, but with paying my own way through school, I was not out there as much as I wanted to be! I am trying to bring up my roomate and brother too. Should be good bull!

I know. Have you been to Northgate lately? It was not like that when I was there. Makes me feel old...

Aside from the fact that the city took away drinking on the back porch, the frat clubs have really moved in on the college main strip of northgate. "Hookah Station" now inhabits what was Holicks.

But as far as in the woods goes, I'm hearing from a lot of people that numbers are higher than the last couple of years, evidenced by nearly 50% more trees cut to date. (best figures I've heard, and I'm not really in the loop, is last year was around 1200 trees while right now with a double cut weekend to go we're at 1800). should make stack fun

It is the responsibility of Ol'Army to always complain about New Army! This includes the demise of Northgate. It keeps our memory alive. I was of the impression that New Army was nothing but frats and metrosexuals. Y'all keeping Bonfire alive and well gives me hope about our spirit as Aggies! I look forward to coming up and helping out in anyway I can. I plan on being there Nov. 22 as well as next year when we do it all over again! Thanks and BTHOB!

correcting my post from earlier, cause I talked to some people at centerpole (which is effin' beautiful), last year was approx. 800 logs, currently its at around 1300 with the weekend still to go.

funny story tho, we actually have a kid on our crew whose fish name is metro. but so long as there's still redassness on northside, the damage from the frats is limited to not passing it back at kyle field (dammit)

With the millions of trees downed in Hurricane Ike, Cut this year should have been replaced with Collect. In Houston, trees were nicely cut up and waiting at the side of the road to be picked up.

Of course the stack would have been more of a "pile"

My kitchen pass was revoked for cussing out a tech tard in public. (He deserved it) I am gonna have to plan for this next weekend. I will be there to help out. Kitchen Pass be damned!

I had things to do with my kids this weekend. Cub Scouts and all that.

Don't worry, I got it signed as an approved absence. But I know the Hogs' day was less bright without me there.

Too bad, though, that both your average age and average number of trees killed went down though :P

It's never too late. Come on out. Cut is pretty much done. All that's left is dorm logs next weekend, unless someone thinks more wood is needed, but there's still Stack and plenty of work to do.
