Driving by the stack the day of or the day before and wondering if it would be done in time, but it always was.

The night before it fell, we were at On The Border, and parked on the row facing Bonfire. I remember looking at it (probably about 10 pm) and thinking to myself that it never looked like it could be ready on time.

That was the last time I ever saw a Fightin' Texas Aggie Bonfire upright.

Early the next morning I got a call from my boss telling me that stack had fallen, and I was needed at work (I was the City's assistant public information officer). I remember looking at the picture of the 94 Bonfire (series of three - being built, leaning, and the rebuild burning) that hung on my living room wall, and had been a gift from my Bonfire Buddy, and thinking - "not again..." when she told me there had been fatalities. We tried to work out shifts, not knowing how long we'd be needed, so I got sent home for a while to rest, but that was impossible, so I just headed back into the office.

Driving by the last stack and thinking- that must be the worst stack assembly I have seen in my dozen or so bonfire experiences. Crooked logs and poor fit.

I still wish it came back, just with better, possibly professional, supervision.

Having to do skits as a fish to make fun of our upperclassmen during lunch at cut...

Waiting in line at Shipley's drive through at 6am with all the other Ags headed out to cut...

Sitting in a swing...

Helping pull apart stack that morning.
