any subscriber wanna repost the Lopez article about Bonfire from the Texags main page?
quote:I can picture it now: Aggie Bonfire brought to you by Raising Canes, burned the night before the big game at AT&T's Kyle Field. Screw corporate sponsorship, no reason to sellout like tech. Financially it works right now, in no small part b/c of the Reds hard work & old Ags slowly understanding it's not some sloppy renegade operation in robertson county. Turnout for Burn '08 is proof that SB is winning converts...
The details of exactly how Bonfire could return to campus naturally could not allow any student-run group or students to be on the stack. The stacking would have to be done by professional contractors. But that is fine. Times change and, in fact, why not invite title sponsorship to the event to defer costs?
Otherwise, organizing, cutting, carrying, transporting, lighting, perhaps even fundraising or selling sponsorships would have to be wholly student-run.
