Howdy Ags!

In less than 24 hours, we will be upon the 10th (!!!) anniversary of the '99 Bonfire collapse.

As most of you have probably heard, several organizations on campus, including Traditions Council, MSC Hospitality, and the Corps of Cadets, have come together to organize two very special events for this occasion:

1) Tonight at 8:00 PM in Reed Arena, there will be a Bonfire Remembrance Program, in which speakers that were involved in the collapse and subsequent recovery will share their experiences and perspectives (the SBP of '99 will be there, just to name one).

2) At 2:42 AM tonight/tomorrow morning, exactly 10 years after the collapse and 100 years since the first on-campus Bonfire, Traditions Council is holding a Candlelight Vigil at the Bonfire Memorial site on campus. Several of the families of the twelve students who lost their lives will be in attendance. We will have a limited supply of candles to pass out, but you are encouraged to bring your own if you plan on attending.

Both of these events are free and open, and so we invite all of you who can make it to come share in honoring the victims of the '99 Bonfire collapse.

Also, for the remainder of the week up until the Baylor game, there will be a (pretty awesome) Bonfire display set up in G. Rollie (for those who don't know, this building is across the street from the Rudder Complex and next to the Kyle Field student entrance). It includes a large collection of photographs, old newspaper clips, and memorabilia from past Bonfires, as well as a memorial section for the twelve who died in '99.

Even if you cannot make it to these events, please find a moment in your day to honor the memory of the twelve, and the memory of Bonfire.

Thanks and gig 'em!
