I have been to the Aggie Student Bonfire several times, so here's what happens. It will be just chilling time with a live band out there peforming and there will a concession stand that will serve food. When it starts to get dark, the lights that have been placed around the Bonfire site will come on and stay on. Right before the first torch is lit, all of the lights will go out (kind of like a signal that something is about to happen so look around). The dorm that has the lit torch will be making the walk (it's a suprise every year because they are always seen in coming out from different spots). They will then walk to the Redpots, pass the flame, the circling of the stack, the Redpots will position themselves around the stack and officially light Aggie Bonfire!
