So...if **** hits the fan, and TAMU and tu go their separate ways, when would Bonfire burn?

Thought I would generate a little bit of discussion here since it has been so quiet...discuss

Only significant if we cease to play tu. Even if we end up in different conferences (a decent sized "if" ), I find it highly, highly unlikely that we would stop playing each other every year.

But for discussion's sake...LSU!

The same thought crossed my mind. But i cant see, no matter what conference each of us may end up in, not playing our annual thanksgiving game. Look at Georgia and Georgia Tech, they play their rivalry game every year and are in different conferences.

It would be absoultely retarded not to have an OOC game on thanksgiving if the schools should end up going different ways...

If anything I believe this would be a good thing for both schools in that if they both get to where we'd want them to be (one dominating the PAC 10, the other killing in the SEC) the thanksgiving game would once again be HUGE every year, and not just for the population between the rivers.

On another hand, it might do Bonfire some good to not be quite so centered around a rivalry game. Some of the other aspects of it could be a little more emphasized.

First, when A&M does go to the SEC the TAMU/t.u. game will remain.

Second, This is not a new thought

Third, a physical thing cannot be a "metaphor"... it is a symbol. A metaphor is not tangible.

We could just open up a big ol can of hate and pour it all over LSU or Arky and build a fire for that game. I don't know about you, but my Burning Desire applies to whomever is next on our schedule.

So why don't we have a bonfire for every game? Also I think the writer was working under the assumption the game with tu would end.
