Howdy, anyone have any old pre-Student Bonfire pics that are high resolution that they could share? I'm having a hard time finding a good selection and would like one that I could have blown up pretty big. Preferably from Bonfire '97 or '98...

cut, stack or burn?

Any of them. I'd like to have a good image of either Bonfire completed at dusk pre-burn, or of a hi res pic of it burning, or of the time-lapsed where it leaves the ring of fire from where the red pots circle bonfire before lighting it. I'd like that to blow up pretty big and frame. But I'd also like to get my hands on other aspects as well like cut, stack, load, unload, first butt, anything. I just want some pics to revisit the old memories that I have.

I'll put some up on my flickr account and post a link in the next day or two. I've got about 1.4GB of pics pre-99, so I'll do what I can. Most are pretty hi-res, so it may take me a little while.

Fitch10- Do you have any video footage of Bonfire (any year when it was on campus)?

They may not be hi-res photos but I think this will give you some good historical photos from many aspects...these are pics of the actual Battalion issue depicted the "world's tallest bonfire" under construction. NOTE that the stack was still teepee shaped (a much safer configuration than the wedding cake shape it took on in later years). Also, the picture of "Chainsaw Man" was taken right before we loaded him up and took him to St.Joseph ER to have his senior ring cut from his fingers...he had run that saw for so long without stopping that his hands had swollen up and circulation was cut off to his ring finger...remember SAFETY FIRST, AGS!
I've also added one that is a something that I made for myself and a few friends...took some of the cut-offs and slabbed off pieces to make mementos of the occasion...the dates depict our fish and zip years.

@ Howdy - I might be able to help you out. I have some bonfires on VHS that I've moved to DVD. It was obviously shot pre-HD video cameras, so the quality from VHS to DVD is not wonderful, but I can check around to see what I've got and get back to you.

Thanks for the pics, Fitch. I had a cheap camera in college and none of the handful of photos I took were worth reproducing once I found them.
