I took some pictures at the Bonfire Memorial this year before "burn" and just wanted to share them with everyone. I think it is a spectacular memorial/dedication, and I'd like to see some other pictures if anyone has any!

What are the coins for?

No idea...whenever I've visited they've been out there. I would like to know that as well.

There isn't a reason. Someone started doing it so everyone else started doing it.

It messes up the granite but I think stopping it at this point would be completely futile.

I would enjoy these photos much more if the wanna-be artistic cursive phrases didn't exist.

Also, is a Neeley fish pot worthy of being in the same photograph as Bonfire Memorial and all it represents?

Yes! Lets all judge and ridicule the person who took the photos and added an artistic touch. Shame on you for being creative or personal in the strict science of photography! Thank god someone used their first two and only posts to point out this offense.
