I made my reference to UP not being exclusive in terms of only allowing students from a certain dorm(s).

I was talking about the "official" stance of UP of being exclusive in the first year, and the fact that many people (and I think one entire dorm) felt that it was only a Walton fire because the majority of participants were from Walton.

I just want to take the time to congratulate BC for what they have accomplished. Very good bull!

As has been previously discussed on this board, the majority of participants were not from Walton. That is impossible. On their best day, and Aaron or Derric probably still have the exact numbers somewhere, Walton may have brought 50 guys out. Moses did the same thing when they came out that semester. Then, when you add in the other non-regs along with the corps, such comments are impossible to validate. However, what was probably meant by the statement, and the true problem with Bonfire 2002 was that several of the leadership were from Walton. This was not, however, a result of other dorms not being asked to help lead. Therefore, it was a problem everyone knew existed and no one (dorm leaders) had huge problems with as long as the problem was corrected the next year.

It got better in 2003, and will definitely not even be an issue in 2004 as out of the 7 greys picked thusfar -- none are from Walton and no more than 2 are from any single dorm or outfit.

No. Unless we want to dig up the old "letting girls into A&M" thing while we're at it. That anyone would resurrect this topic is begging for an argument, or something. This is anywhere from ill-informed to inappropriate, and certainly irrelevant.

Personally, it seems a lock is on order, but I'm not the boss. So using this thread as an example, I hope the students can all agree to just keep their heads down and focus their energies on what got them here: building the hell outta Bonfire.

The association between the University and SB would be harmful to both--the view from outside the University would hurt federal grants, and University involvement with SB would mean a crippling level of micro-management and a political correctness Spanish Inquisition
