I didn't realize that Aston needed so much attention. Sorry. I guess being so insignificant for so long has really made you guys needy. You should feel proud though, you got your own thread.

By the way..Bobinator asked on the first page if Aston was EVER involved in Bonfire. That made me laugh. No one answered him yet, so I will: No. Every now and then I think Mosher let a few Aston guys cut in their woods though.

It's not a question of needing attention, it's a public service.

Any thread even remotely relating to dung needs to have advisory warnings.

I needed a 95 on that final to make a 70 in the class. 24 hours straight of studying before the test and I got a 100.

You know, sometimes I look back on my college career and almost miss finals and classes and things like that.

Then I read what NACD typed and am quite happy where I am now.

And I agree, Southside sucks.

Currently (and unfortunately) southside does in fact suck. Not long ago southside was great though.

If anyone would like to trade their diploma to me I'll let you take all the finals you want.

It's amazing but there are actually some '00 still around.

Not to change the subject or anything but I have some Good Bull to share.

During Bonfire 2004 on the last day of Cut, Aston was with OCA cutting down the OCA HOG Log. Skoll (Aston) was at a church function that day so it was just 3 of us (Southpaw, Otel, and Old Army). We took our fair share of cuts until the HOG Log was on the ground and than out of no where Scott'91 (OCA) asked us "So you guys want a log?"

I looked at him and thinking to myself "He did not say what I thought he said?" Sure enough he gave a us a good size tree and I started on the front wedge, Southpaw got his cuts in, OCA got some in as well and then Otel killed it. I thought I felt good when I killed my first tree but this was even better. Aston, one of the smallest dorms ever at Cut, to get a dorm log for first time since 1999.

After the chain saws clear off the branches and other stuff. The 3 of us started to chisel
(A S T O N) and I had a smile from ear to ear watching. It was so cool.

I like to thank OCA for taking us to cut with yall and you help this dorm take a big step in the right direction. Hopefully we'll see each other out in the woods again. I encourage anybody that is off-campus to contact OCA at hogs.tamu.edu and if any current student from Aston reading this, stay put in O5. I see you then if not sooner.

Back during 97, we seriously had two guys go to the emergency room with recluse bites gotten in the dorm.

that's cause shawn found that dirty ass couch on the side of the road that ended up being infested with spiders. i still remember that.

While I never heard that bit of info, I'm not surprised in the least!

i still remember that, shawn was all stoked cause he found the couch on teh side of the road, so i think they actually put it in buddha's and gary's room...and shawn ended up sleeping on it that night, next morning he woke up with teh shakes and a fever...turned out the damn thing was infested.

It starts small. There will be more of them next year, but they are starting from scratch so it takes a little time.

It is so hard to think of them "starting from scratch"...the big rivalry between Aston and Dunn was always what made Southside so great. They both brought out big numbers (along with the female commons dorms that is).

We have our $h*t together but it is kinda hard if I'm living 3 hours away in San Antonio and asking 3 of my boys in Aston to find more meat when the RA's and HD are constantly feeding the "Bonfire is unsafe" BS and being told that they will be kicked out for some odd reason. I mean it is the same stuff that I was told from 2000-2002 and I lived in Aston from 1998-2002. I have given my thoughts of the matter to them and they will have to work it out the best they can.

Yes I remember back then that I was a part of those 30-40 people that Aston brought out and those were good times. Today, that is not going to happen for a while. It is not easy trying to start things up again when no one knew that Aston was one of the main Southside dorms to come out for Bonfire. I mean, 4 years have gone by before anybody(2004) has every try taken Aston back to Cut. Be patient, this will take some time and faith for this dorm to be back to what it once was.

As for Aston/Dunn rivary, well I'm not going to worry too much about that. Rivalries have a funny way of coming back to life but as soon as Bonfire grows, so will the rivalry. For right now Aston/Dunn or in the same boat, working together to build Bonfire.

(But Dunn still is nothing but a bunch douche bags no matter what TomDoss97 says ). HA!

It is sad to hear the rivalry between Dunn and aston has dropped off. I lived my whole time at A&M in Dunn (95-99) and remember there always being some bitterness, especially after their dorm got the super stink bomb that lingered for weeks, maybe months...

The only good thing about aston was getting to beat them up every year in the Cross-Commons football game that they could NEVER win.

I agree with NRB. Once Dunn and Aston get back to being involved in Bonfire they will start to hate each other again. It's absolutely crazy to me that that current students involved in bonfire can legitimately wonder whether Aston and Dunn were ever involved.

I still have memories (hazy ones) from those football games. I always found it odd that dung would have some *really* large and fast guys on their team that I somehow NEVER saw at any other dung functions...

My fish year I had the honor of getting run over by one of those gentlemen, which slowed him just enough to allow Ty to lay his ass out. At least that's what people told me later on...

I was a freshman in DUNN in 99... didnt do much with bonfire then because I was an ENGR major takin 16 hours and was gettin my @$$ kicked so usually I was studyin on sat and sun..... That year I meet and new a lot of people.

My sophmore year I was also in DUNN with a few friends from freshman... I can honstly say that that year no one had any reason to come out of there room, everyone kept their door shut. Seemed that everyone was doing their own thing.

Junior year also lived in DUNN again 2nd floor... same thing again. The dorm didnt do much to get people out??

Senior year got the hell outa there and moved to Plantation Oaks... Must say that the freshman year was one of the beat years of my life.

Oh and it is good you guys still go out. I was in town for a conference once and saw people going to their cares WHEN THE SUN WAS UP! That blew my mind but I was glad to see them. I guess they don't throw food at each other at grocery store parking lots anymore? =)

I can't promise anything about a renewed rivalry next year, or sending 30 or 40 from Aston, but we will have at least 2 more.

Sadly they don't anymore but i do remember the food fights in the parking lot of Albertsons. Just look out for a stray egg or tomatoes coming down on top of your crew and your truck. I think it was either Crocker, HHH or even Walton that always started it. I felt bad for the employee that had to clean up after everybody left but that was one of the many good things to look forward too during Bonfire.

I swung many an axe with the Aston fellas in my days. Too bad Aston hasn't been representin'.. (BTW...nice job on the pots and the dorm log, but use bigger letters on your pots). I know a few used to troll around on here...I'll see if I can't stir 'em up.

I think the most important question here is why your pots are on your knees instead of on your heads while you were in the woods.

Didn't someone bring a stripper to cut one year? I heard that I think in 97 but didn't know is that was true. You could lie about strippers or promise doughnuts...that MIGHT get them out of bed. Or tell them you would get them a date...most fish don't have those I think.
