Hey, I have respect for intentions but it is just another resume filler if you ask me. I appreciate what they try to do and don't want to discount hard work... even if I do think it is mis-applied.

And asked for being an authority on traditions, don't start lecturing me because you think you are high and mighty because of class council.

I can guarantee that the Corps and Traditions Council know more than you (and me) on Aggie traditions.

So let's not get in a pissing contest here.

I know people on class council (hence why I asked originally because my information came from one of my class council people), but I still believe it sucks... Maybe I don't know the 1st thing about it, but it seems to me that it is just another puppet of the administration.

And for the record, I have no problem with the administration with the way it is on paper... I have an issue when it deviates from what it's supposed to be.

I have yet to be impressed. Sure they sell t-shirts and organize stuff, which is needed I guess (sadly - because if the student body was redass enough, we wouldn't need an official body to sponsor and organize Aggie traditions).

But then again, maybe I am just bitter because of traditions being commercialized (which apparently has happend for a while - ie Aggie Bonfire). I don't know about you, but "Howdy" sponsored by Wings 'n More kind of rubs me the wrong way.

Now I am doing something I hate - complaining about something and not acting on it... but it's not like I can act on it, given the way class councils is so cliqued from the student body.

All Class council does is worry about selling t-shirts and making their resume fancy and such. How do i know this? Because I was in CC for a year before I found out what it did....SELL T-SHIRTS.

I don't know who exactly is doing it, but it's bs.

Course I don't like all the commercialization of football games either, but that's another story.

My best friend is president of an organization on campus called Howdy Ags...I'm a former member. I can tell you for a fact that it's KBTX that's handing out the buttons. They asked for Howdy Ags support, but the organization already hands out Howdy stickers, and chose not to advertise for businesses outside of the university.

True, I'm in Howdy Ags, and have not heard anything of corporate sponsors and I also know that their budget isn't what they had predicted. Knowing them, they are very careful in dealing with policies with the school such as passing out paper work at every venture to its members. I highly doubt that they would accept any commercial sponsorship.

Unless it's for Howdy Week. And the deal with the buttons (as per Miss Sweeney) is that Howdy Ags wasn't getting any of the recognition from it, so why be the ones handing them out? I tend to agree. Let KBTX get the word out, and we'll stick to the recognizeable plain maroon & white buttons and stickers.

Well this may be a first but I agree with you Eric. That is the problem there is suck a divison with SPO and SGA. Class Council and Traditions Council and Yell Leaders need to all get together and compare the so called facts and find some type of common ground. I was also in TC and I know that before our traditions binder was put together there was a lot of time spent in Cushing Library researching facts......CC where did you get all of your information from.
