I am new to this forum but have come to find out if anyone else is interested in assisting with a Bonfire Memorial Website.
I come from along line of Aggies (70' Mother & Father, 64' Uncle, 29' Grandfather - Football Coach, 2001'-Me, Brother still working on it)and our family still has property across from the campus in College Hills. I was there shortly after it fell and will never forget it, like all of you.
We own an Low Altitude Aerial Photography company here in Houston and do a lot of Aerial Photo & Video work utilizing both full scale aircraft and remotely piloted (UAV) helicopters & blimps. We have family reunions in C.S. every year at Thanksgiving and the entire family went to the memorial. Lots of tears.. Lots of Memories.
What I would like to do is a full aerial photo shoot of the Memorial and many areas of the Campus to put online for all the Aggies that cannot make the trip to C.S. as well as others that are interested in learning more about the Memorial and Aggieland in general. It will be primarily photo and video based content with other helpful information and links to Aggie related sites such as this and others.
We have already registered the domain name and own a dedicated web server which will easily accommodate both large photos and videos if needed. What we are in need of is someone(s) that is skilled in web design. That is none of our strong suits. I have some general ideas on what I would like to see but it is an open book right now.
We plan to start shooting aerial & professional ground pictures around Christmas weather permitting and go from there. (I’m sorry I missed the 04’ Bonfire as I was out of the State at the time but have personal photos from the first off campus bonfire) I guess we can look into including galleries that others submit as well.
So, if you or anyone you know is a skilled web designer and would like to participate in building this site, or adding content and ideas, please post here or drop me a message. We would like this to be a group endeavor but if there isn't any interest, I suppose we could try and contract someone to do it. I thought we could start here.
