I know that the previous off-campus bonfires were a simple 1 stack teepee. This year’s looks taller, involving several stacks. Is that accurate are were the logs just topped to look that way???

so were the tiers stacked on top of each other or did all the butts touch the ground and the logs topped to give the wedding-cake look? If it was the latter, those were some freaking big logs...

All logs touched the ground, but were cut to different lengths to create the wedding-cake appearance.

you got that right, some of the dorm logs were impossible to move. Including ours.

OMC handled theirs with ease.

its seemed pretty damn big when we tried to pick the thing up. Next year when picking a dorm log you might want to pick one close/easily accessible by a tractor.

We did. Then Neeley came out on an unscheduled day and cut it down. Stupid hos.

I still say we coulda moved it if everyone wasn't so tired and ready to go to lunch. It wasn't as big as that 50 million man log a couple weekends before.

It was an "optical illusion" log. It didn't look that big, but I couldn't get my armns around it. Probably 8" to a foot between my fingers. That's in the range of the dress logs of old.

It could have been moved with f*** sticks but that idea was shot down. Maybe as you guys get more experience and more old guys start coming out, that technique can be passed down.

that log was so beautiful it couldn't be put on bonfire. i still have my chip of it somewhere.

BE, when did Neeley come out on an 'unscheduled day'? We cut our log on the last weekend of cut. You should know that the schedule on the website was just a general guideline... the Greys have the ultimate say.

If you're referring to our beautiful log, it didn't burn all the way... they relit some stuff last Sunday and you could still read the NEE in the log

maybe next year neeley will have enough common sense to carve their name on the base of the log instead of the middle. I just kinda laughed watching it get cut in half.

Well, I don't know exactly when you cut it. I just know we weren't there when you did, and I only missed 2 days of cut (both in the same weekend), so in my head it was an "unscheduled" day. I'm not saying you were out there when you shouldn't have been, just saying that it wasn't a day on the calendar, which is what we based our days on (until stack, anyway). It's not a big deal. We weren't upset about it, we just picked a different log. This one wasn't next to the road and it was big, so it didn't get to go to stack. Live and learn. No biggie.

Yeah, live and learn... no excuse for not bein out there. HAH

And Burger, I have a feeling it didn't matter where Neeley was carved into the log... it woulda got cut into somehow.

I know for a fact that might not have been the worst thing that was on it.

Oh well, considering my plots on another dorm... what goes around comes around.
