I still remember looking up at that bonfire in 65 and wondering if we had topped 100 feet. We did. And not a single log on the bonfire could you put your arms around, most of them were twice that size.
My outfit brought in the largest log, and it took sixty of us just to lift it. And two long hours to haul it the mile or so to the truck loading area. Sqd 3 had to borrow half of our unit to be able to load it.
Every bonfire when I was on campus topped a hundred feet. That along with meeting Pinky Wilson, and getting my Degree from Earl Rudder are some of the fondest memories that I have.
