I love the "buzz" that comes along with the ramp-up for Bonfire. Meetings, e-mails, meetings, calls, meetings, etc...
Looking back over the past few years of Bonfire, it was those few days before Cut, Stack, and Burn that were the most electric. The Browns were concerned about getting everything they needed, the Greys were worried about getting everything right, and the Greens were running around making sure that everything got supplied, accounted for, and written down.
The freshman were just running around.
I love how everyone works their hardest and best in those times right before a deadline. First Cut. Turbo-Stack. Chad and that darned fuel pump. In those times, the participants of Bonfire just become one united force. Need a crew to move a log? By the time you finish yelling "I need a crew...," the log is in the air and on it's way. Instead of Hollywooding for yourself, you think of what Bonfire needs.
I am seeing all of this stuf kick up recently and I love it. You guys and girls out there know who you are and all of us who are now on the outside looking in thank you. Keep up the good work.
When that old Ag comes up to you on November 19th, wipes away a tear, shakes your hand and says "Thank you," you will know that all your work was worth it.
