Lee was one of the most outstanding men that this nation has ever produced. His honor, integrity, valor and kindness were revered world-wide. After the war, he accepted the position of President of the college later named Washington and Lee. He was loved by his students beyond measure. Shortly before his death in 1870, he wrote these words, that serve well as a beacon and a touchstone for all students who toil in the trenches to progress Bonfire:

"The truth is this: The march of Providence is so slow and our desires so impatient; the work of progress so immense and our means of aiding it so feeble; the life of humanity is so long, that of the individual so brief, that we often see only the ebb of the advancing wave and are thus discouraged. It is history that teaches us to hope."

That was a joke. If you are an Aggie then you need to think about what you think you know about your school. Obviously you are very disgruntled for some reason.

You obviously know little about being an Aggie if you think we have a "little campfire." Robert E. Lee built leaders. Bonfire does the same thing. If you look beyond your anger you would see that quote wasn't to support Bonfire, but as encouragment. That the struggles we go through pay-off with perseverance. That is what Bonfire does. It takes the efforts of individuals and focuses them, resulting in something grand.

I'm sorry your happiness rests on sports. Some of us care more about what happens after the game is over.

Mr. mann,

You'd do well to pay attention to the facts. No alcohol allowed on Aggie Student Bonfire property. Not in bottles, not in cans and not in bellies.

Yes, some of the Aggies are decent, hard-working country folk. Though I'm from the affluent suburbs of Houston, one of my college roommates was a 7th generation peanut farmer and knowing his family gives me more pleasure and character than boosting your prideful, classless school will ever afford you.

Go enjoy your frat party, hippie. Mack Brown can't keep the uncircumsized, burnt uringe horde undefeated forever. When t.u. football hits it's crest, we'll be there, still strong in our military traditions of class and excellence, just like General Ross and General Lee. That includes Bonfire.

See me on Friday? I'll be student side, 2nd deck section 245, row 18, seat 15. I'll be wearing a 12th Man Jersey and a Bonfire hat. I'll stay standing on that seat all game (except when your ridiculous band stands around the field.)

My name's Daniel and I'd be happy to discuss your chances against USC with you if you come over to say Hi. I'd buy you a beer, but you're too young and snot-nosed to drink and... oh, the "drunken rednecks" don't serve alcohol in Kyle Field because we don't like classless behavior.

You and your 'sip friends can waste your money on roses. Should you double the spread on the Aggies, it will put you on that much higher a horse.

Pride goes before a fall, Mr. Mann, and your t-sips are the proudest bunch of ingrates I've ever seen.

P.S. This is the Bonfire board, not rivalries. You want to continue this, let's take it there.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that '09 kid has not the foggiest clue what those words mean, or their relevance to Student Bonfire. But it is encouraging that he can so clearly present Exhibit A as to what 'sips represent.

An '09 tsip talking crap on the A&M board? $10 says he goes to ACC or Concordia...or his buddies working construction gave him a free t-shirt and he just discovered the internet.
