Fauci is a consummate professional who is one of the lead editors of the preeminent internal medicine textbook in addition to all of his other roles. RFK Jr has zero medical experience and his beliefs are actively harmful to people. There's also no reason to really think John Kelly is lying. He's not known to be a dishonest person at all. He's also not some woke liberal. He's a four star general and is clearly a serious person. Trump, on the other hand, is known to be extremely dishonest, even by politician standards. However, this information is so damning that the only way to really attack it is to attack Kelly's credibility. So in that sense I get it.
There's every reason to think he is lying. The timing, lack of corroborating witnesses, his personal vitriol toward trump over firing him, and general implausibility of the claim. His reputation as a strict micro manager as well.
