I apologize if I commingled Columbus and Springfield Ohio in my post. Let me know if you are accusing me of lying about something specifically about Haitians in Ohio. I forget, aren't you the poster who claims to teach kids in college about Karl Marx' impact on contract law, or am I misremembering that?Sapper Redux said:

Yes, the claims that Haitians are eating pets is a lie and the claim that a "Haitian illegal immigrant" killed that kid is a lie and the parents are furious about how people like you have been politicizing that tragedy.

I'd recommend any readers actually interested in the truth step outside the MSM bubble and check out what Haitian culture actually looks like and consider what the impact of 20K being flown into a small midwestern town might be. It is very un-Christian to support doing this to people, least of all with tax dollars.Quote:
The liberal media deny news about this, but videos of outrage by longtime residents have gone viral on X and TikTok. Most Haitians do not know how to drive, so car accidents in this small town have caused car insurance rates to skyrocket for everyone who lives there.
There are videos of residents complaining about pets disappearing, presumably taken for food by these migrants, who reportedly also decapitate ducks in the local park. Grocery store items are being opened up and consumed right off the shelves.
A 95-pound elderly woman testified at a public hearing, which is available on video, that "it is so unsafe. I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me, throwing mattresses in my front yard, throwing trash in my front yard." She and her husband feel they are being forced out of their home of 45 years.
Independent journalist Tyler Oliveira has posted many video interviews of Springfield residents on X, including one viewed 1.7 million times of a black veteran explaining how he's been unable to obtain Medicaid while social services are overwhelmed by Haitian migrants. In another video showing an hours-long waiting line for benefits, an officer estimated that the ratio during the morning is 9-to-1 Haitians compared with locals.
This is an old racist trope used to stir up hatred toward immigrant groups. It's been done before and JD Vance and Donald Trump are doing it again. The current "rumors" likely started from an AMERICAN black woman (not a Haitian) who reportedly ate a cat in another city entirely. Even though the Springfield PD has said there have been no credible reports of this happening, people still run with it.Quo Vadis? said:Sapper Redux said:

But it's the same deal as with the immigrant who killed the kid in a car wreck. It's all meant to rile up hate toward immigrants, except most of these immigrants are legal. It's pure racism, plain and simple.
Yet another characteristic of fascism that these people are flaunting in plain sight: unifying against a common enemy that people blame for society's problems.
It would be perfectly reasonable to raise concerns about how an influx of 20k people into a town of 50k has caused problems, such as strain on resources, increased auto accidents, and housing shortages. but that's not what's happening here.

How does incredible poverty influence people? Would you like to go through some less stellar moments in European history and the food choices made? Geo****ia is extremely common historically, particularly in populations with low iron and poor diet.

Hey, just moderately curious, but what would cause something like that to happen in the early 19th century? Hmm? Why? Just racist people killing innocent whites? Totally nothing else happening? And how did nations like France respond? And how did that response change the situation in Haiti?
Also, "I don't care what every official in the city says, I just believe what validates my prejudices" is a hell of a tell.

I know I shouldn't be shocked by anything anymore, but it's really shocking hearing conservative Christians continuously defend these things (or deny them), and scold colonized people for resisting their own extermination. But if anything it's a lesson that history really never changes.

Give me a break. They slaughtered anyone with a drop of white blood. The Belgians were absolutely deserving of getting killed by the Congolese but that doesn't mean the Stanleyville Massacre and murder of women and children was warranted.
Again, if the French had wanted to destroy the Haitians so that these gone within a generation; there would be no Haiti today. The French had the power to do so, and the Haitians could not have stopped them.

I believe it was around 20. However, the life expectancy for the average Frenchman was 25 at the same time.
Presently Haitian life expectancy is 64 years, vs 82 for France.
Nearly the same proportion.

This is absolutely not true. Polish legionaries and German settlers sided with the Haitians as did a large number of mixed race people. The brutality was against the French.
