I think it was my 4th time all the way through. I highly recommend the NAVPRESS reading plan. It only has 25 days per month for the one year plan. I did it in about 10 months, but it was nice knowing I didn't have to catch up if I missed a day.

Probably have to read it again before I understand it all

It's amazing the things that have happened this year, though.

Nice! I've read the whole thing bit by bit back in my teens/twenties, but that was decades ago.

Started with the book of John at the beginning of this year, as part of our church's 21 days of prayer and fasting. Kept going and am almost done with Acts.

Pretty much reading a chapter a day, but I'm not certain if I'll continue through the NT or bounce back to the OT. I tried a reread from the very beginning back in 2021 or 22, but stopped after 1st Kings. Might pick it back up from there.

I have done the Bible in a year app for I believe ten years now. Enjoy the commentary by Nickey and Pippa Gumbel.

And it seems that everytime I read it, I learn something new.

For several years I used six day bible reading plan. It is setup to start on January 1. This year I started Through the Word Journey. It is 19 Journeys through the Bible.

Completed the Bible twice. Then started years ago and got half way through. For some reason I used to read 20 minutes a night. I think I read somewhere that was a good time or suppose to do.

I'm currently doing a year plan callled The Bible Recap. My wife are doing it together to hold each other accountable. The host does a recap each day which I find helpful especially as I'm slogging through Leviticus and Numbers.

Yay! That's awesome - truly!

I enjoy finding a way to mix it up every year but my favorite way to read it is chronologically; I just love seeing the whole story through from start to finish!

I'm a student leader in BSF this year, with the HS group. Each week we have the option of covering a Basic Truth. One of the Basic Truths is the question, "What is Sin?" Yes, a pretty important question.

I found it interesting that one of the verses used was Lev. 5:17:
"If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the LORD's commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity."

I just write this as an encouragement to remember that even though it seems like a slog, sometimes there's something pretty important or profound to see.

So true. Every time I read I get something new, as designed I believe. I saw quite a bit of richness in both Numbers and Leviticus this time around. Leviticus 10? Phew.

My wife and I listened all the way through with the Dramatized Audio Bible New International Version on Audible. We love audio books, and this was a great way to "read" the whole Bible. We have Tony Evans' commentary, as well, and it has links to introductory videos about each book of the Bible, which we also watched prior to listening to each book. We also followed along with our Bibles during the listen.

It was a lot of fun for us, and it was very enlightening. I grew up in church and had probably read almost everything over the years in bits and pieces. But reading from front to back brought home a deeper understanding of God's plan.

Yes I used that one my first 2 or 3 times and recently I've switched to chronologically with no commentary on the same app. Nickey and Pippa are great.

This might be my 7th or 8th year to read it all of the way through. And yes there's always, always new things that pop up with each reading.

I had read through it several times, but a turning point for me was when I got stuck teaching Bible survey to an adult Sunday School class. Seeing the themes connected week after week was powerful, and helped me greatly when I wrote my book about 15 years ago.

100% agree, that's why I like this plan. It helps me catch things I never would.

Curious about your book. Can you give us any particulars?

What is the commentary like? I've often wondered if there is some kind of supporting book to read along that "sets the stage" or provides additional context.

I bought a One Year Chronological Bible from Tyndall in NLT at the beginning of 2022. I got bogged down and stopped reading. I went to a Walk to Emmaus later in the year and committed to daily reading when I got home on Aug 15. I have not waived from that since. I finished in 2022 and started it again fresh in 2023. I decided to try another One Year Chrono in NIV (Thomas Nelson) for 2024 but also read the same verses in ESV alongside. This year I returned to the Tyndall version, and I am reading NIV concurrently.

I don't have a particular preference for one translation over another, but I really like the chronological layout from Tyndall better. For example, you will read the same stories from Kings and Chronicles on the same day. The NIV from Thomas Nelson might have them a day or two apart. When you get into the Gospels, likewise you read the same stories on the same day.

I find reading the Bible chronologically is more fulfilling. I try to stay a couple of days ahead on the daily reading, in case something comes up to prevent my reading. I think psychologically that if I get behind, it is easy to miss the next day and so on.

At this point, I plan to repeat the Tyndall version every year, but choose another translation to read alongside every year. My church uses NASB, so have already decided that will be my "co-reading" for 2026.

Never read it all the way through, but have been on Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike to the half-way point.

My biggest take-away is that, after reading much of the Old Testament, seeing how much the catholic mass makes sense.

Also, I am just like God's people of old, rejecting him for my own preferences. Makes me ever-more thankful for Jesus.

The Old Covenant of Law was harsh. Thank God for Jesus.

Read it, but can't recommend.

The ending clearly sets up for a sequel but the author hasn't put out anything in the last 1900 years. Almost as bad a George R R Martin. Well, I guess that's unless you count the spin-offs like The Quran or The Book of Mormon (most don't).
