If nature continues to take it's course as it has during our marriage, my wife and I should be prepared for a 6th child in the next year or so. So, to fathers of large families on here: any discernible difference in 5 kids versus whatever number above that you eventually reach? Anything in particular to prepare for beside needing to purchase a full size van?

(extra appreciation if anyone has strong recs on a particular model of van and reasons why they prefer it, haha)

God blessed us with 8!

We went through 3 vans, but always opted for the one with 3rd row seating. The second vehicle was a small SUV and we typically drove both anytime we needed to travel all together. I remember "racing" mom to church - good times. You are blessed!

Honda Odyssey EXL Touring - needed the DVD player when they were kids.

Congrats on your family.

Raising 9 here. College senior down to 1yo. Noise level in my home has gradually increased over the years. Another x-factor is that we are parenting adults, teens, preteens, young kids, and toddlers. Runs the gamut right now. Much variety in concerns with each age range.

We went from old minivan to old suburban to new 15 passenger van. Some minivans can do 8 passengers (Honda and Toyota, depending on options) last I knew. We drive the GM van. It's more truck-like than the others. I don't like the driver's seat for long rides, but it's a beast. Most of my friends with big families drive the Ford Transit. Seat and interior are nicer than my GMC. Likely more expensive too. One friend has a Sprinter and it's amazing, but pricey.

Congrats on#6.

I only have 5, and now we have a rabbit. So can't help on raising another kid or needing more room in a vehicle. However all the rabbit does is eat, poop and wake me up in the middle of the night… so it's kinda like a kid actually.

We have an odyssey, and it's great.
