Man I can't believe the extremely traditional Mike Lewis' publication found a dude to counter signal the society. I wonder if we can also get Fr James Martin's take on the issue.

Why would you want them to leave the Church?

Seventh word of the article tells me all I need to know about the approach he is taking. Sigh.

Tells me too.

That the SSPX is schismatic.

WPI... a website dedicated to whatever the Pope says regardless of othodoxy except when it's hypothetically not their guy. Highly reliable. Super Catholic. Except this is the same error as the sedevacantists taken to the opposite conclusion.

"That the SSPX is schismatic."

It's amazing to me that you can say you see so clearly other people's faults but cannot see your own pride that is leading to the exact thing, schism, you say this is not about.

That expose clearly lays out the very issue every SSPX member will need to answer in their heart; follow the church Jesus founded through obedience to the Holy See in their time regardless of who occupies the Chair of Peter- or not. When you really think about it, there are really only two choices.

ETA: I would hope that SSPX reconsiders those ordinations and works something out. As I have posted before, "There is no monopoly on the mission" - those were the words of Timothy Radcliffe, then Master General of the Dominicans. He was talking about the many gifts of the order. Some are more traditional and others not so. But we all have the same goal.

While the TLM is not for me, I am glad it helps others in their spiritual journey. And who doesn't want to ride a horse in full habit through a river??
