B C and D are all possible. A is not possible.
In fact A has already been disproven - the police report does not mention race, the police report mentions a rope not a noose, and the police report initially had no mention of "MAGA" comments it was amended later.
I won't believe his story until there is some proof beyond his own say so. That said, a person may hesitate to voluntarily surrender their cell phone for forensic analysis by law enforcement for reasons other than it does not validate their story (i.e.- text messages with a pot dealer, sext messages, privacy, etc.)
