I forgot how the math works but I think the speed of sound in the lunar vacuum is not technically infinite. I think it will be subsonic

Don't worry. You didn't miss anything exciting (it's routine at this point it seems) - expect a freaking rocket being launched and two boosters landing themselves on pad sites after traveling partway to space.

As much as I love rocket launches, I've only been to one and it was a super heavy. Incredible experience.

Depends on if it's Starwars or Interstellar/2001
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

Two separate road delays are posted for tonight. Production to Pad and then one the other way. Looks like B19 is headed out tonight.

Adding, SpaceX is planning to provide an update on HLS design/timelines etc. the week of IFT 12 (end of the month.

The booster didn't move overnight. Wonder if they took something to the air separation unit?

Looks like some kind of pad testing today resulted in a pad support RUD. That'll add to the timeline for flight 12.

Ship 40 at Massey's already and Ship 41 making good progress on stacking. As I've been saying, the pace is about to change dramatically.

After they get the pad commissioned....

Is it just me or are there a lot more tiles glued to that thing?

I may have missed an update or 3.

The V2 ships all had a lot of tiles intentionally not installed in critical areas to test whether or not a tile loss in a particular area would cause the loss of the ship on re-entry. The V3 ships are intended to be production models after these first few flights. So far the two we've seen haven't had the experimental tile exclusions.

The 2 V3 ships have also had some as yet unexplained tiles added to the leeward side of the ship. Not that you can see those in this pic. So yes, there's more tiles overall.

Here's a pic of Ship38 stacked for flight 11 for comparison. Pretty similar, just a different perspective that isn't looking straight at the heat shield.

Any ideas on when this next launch of the Starship will happen?

NET I think is in around 10 days but it's more likely to be toward the end of the month with the gas generator needing repair in the tank farm/possible further test then of the deluge system. Just my two cents.

Lot's of rumors/speculation about what they might be doing in Louisiana shortly.

I also don't have any idea really but would speculate it could be used for the cancelled-for-now oil rig based launch systems they toyed with? This is down near Pecan Island. Though if they want to ramp to 100 starship launches/day they will need more manufacturing space. Unlike F9 they can't be road transported long distances over land, of course, and the space to ramp up manufacturing in Starbase/KSC to that level is not really available.

If it's manufacturing, I am very curious if they factor in a need to make it 'hurricane proof' to some degree at that location. They get hit every few years or so pretty hard there.

136,000 acres in Louisiana is a lot of land to put in a starship campus, Elon is dead serious about populating Mars, hope if happens in the next 10 years or so.

Large, flat, and with good ICW access. My guess is a development, testing, manufacturing, and shipping hub for a lunar mass driver. Serves as a future campus for other Starshipmax cargo origin. If Starship has to ship by water due to diameter so does its largest cargo. This is close to midway between the two launch complexes as well.

What did Elon get done this week?
