a large buffer.

This will last all of about a cup of coffee, seriously Iran and the majority of mideast do not see a Israel as a real partner.

Hamas police could be seen on the streets of Gaza on Saturday, Reuters footage showed. That followed a statement by Hamas on Friday announcing plans to deploy internal security forces and reassert its authority.

Agree that the 20 points as laid out will probably not be adopted.
But how much appetite does Israel still have for war? I doubt the level of conflict we've been seeing resumes. Bibi doesn't want to alienate the orthodox parties over draft laws any further, and manpower is tight. But something new will emerge that Bibi thinks will appease a large enough coalition to keep him in power and secondarily appease the Arabs enough for him to normalize relations with more Arab neighbors.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Sunday that Israel was going to insist that its military be allowed to destroy what's left of Hamas's extensive tunnel system underneath the Gaza Strip once the hostages are returned. Katz called the endeavor "the greatest challenge" for Israel going forward after the release of the hostages. He added that the Israeli military would work in conjunction with a U.S.-led international mechanism for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Israel has only destroyed around 30%-40% of the hundreds-of-miles-long tunnel system underneath Gaza, according to Israeli and Arab officials. Any attempt by Israel to destroy the rest of the subterranean infrastructure would be a highly contentious issue going forward as it would lead to even more destruction in Gaza.

I wonder why all the hostages still alive are male. Sure it has nothing to do with the world knowing what they did to the females if they were allowed to live.
Released hostages

How many of the 28 remaining hostages are confirmed to be female?
A beautiful sight to see on Tel Aviv beach in front of US Embassy Branch Office. We are waiting on arrival of @realDonaldTrump at airport. 🙏 https://t.co/aBv2ViyKGo

It’s great that the ceasefire has held for a few days and hostage swaps are taking place.

This has got to be the most pathetic attempted gotcha that I see from a bunch of the Israel First crowd. This demand to celebrate before we even know if this nightmare is over is wild. https://t.co/KNsiVhhexV

There were no "hostage swaps". It was hostages traded for terrorists.
Hamas apologists are SCUM.

I like Dave. Could have said it cleaner but the point is true. A lot of sheet to figure out. A lot.
Do you really think it's gonna be super peaceful and Gaza and the west bank just get figured out without convention or more bloodshed?
I don't.
So what's your huge beef with his comment?

unfortunately many of the bodies already returned to Israel in the last two years were females
in the first few days the IDF rescued a female IDF soldier, but her fellow Observation Post friend was murdered in the first few weeks in Gaza.
just like with Shiri Bibas and her two young sons murdered in the first few days.

Here are just a few of the “hostages” being released by Israel:

•Qassem Aref Khalil al-Asafreh, 36 (Hamas) – involved in 2019 stabbing murder of yeshivah student Dvir Sorek… https://t.co/an1DuRcVxq

A Palestinian man who raped a 13-year-old boy before beating him to death with an iron bar is among the prisoners to be freed by Israel under the hostage deal.
Ahmed Mahmed Jameel Shahada was put behind bards in 1989 after luring teenager Oren Bahrami to a monastery in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, before raping him and beating him to death.
Oren's parents, from south of Tel Aviv, reported him missing in April 1989. Detectives working on the case initially suspected he had been kidnapped by terrorists, after finding his abandoned bike in a Jaffa port

Joe Biden has praised Donald Trump for his success in negotiating a peace deal which allowed the 20 remaining Hamas survivors to return home.
But he also tried to take some credit for the monumental deal, claiming his administration had laid the groundwork for Trump to negotiate.
'The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war,' Biden said in a statement to X on Monday
