The current CNN headline on this one....
"Blockbuster U.S. jobs report surpasses all expectations"
What a joke of a news organization they are.

"news organization"?

how can anyone still believe they are anything but one of the main components of the regime's pravda media arm at this point? people who are this brainwashed by government's propaganda mouth piece need to wake up. Maybe they need to see that headline on the same day they get laid off from their job.

March job gains will be revised downward by May, just like they did for the December and January job reports in March.

Well at least they're consistent in the economic propaganda.
I thought January was revised upwards?

During the decade between 2008-2018, monthly job creations over 300k were seen just 10 times. Yet since 2021, we've eclipsed that level 20 times. Nothing to see here. No funny business.

All of this data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Fed is living on borrowed time. As the socialist drumbeat goes on and things get worse we are going to get less access to this kind of data. They are telling lies and hoping people don't dig into the details. Someday that's not even going to be an option and all we are going to get is the lies.

And it will be revised down like always, but that won't be reported.

Total net revisions were positive 22K for January (+27k) and February (-5K) in this morning's reading.

Exactly - how many of these 300K jobs are for illegals?

Also, layoffs have already happened at my family's employers last month. Hopefully, there won't be another round later this year.

All is well

Full-time workers fell by 6,000, while part-timers increased by 691,000. Multiple job holders rose by 217,000, to 5.2% of the total employment level.

Inconvenient facts to be ignored by the proletariat.

I agree.

I wonder a lot when this started. I felt like you could generally trust the information that came out of Reagan/Bush/Clinton governments. I think it probably started either with the WMD fiasco but really accelerated when Obama changed the unemployment calculation and largely got away with it. That was basically telling the government that it was OK.

Two years ago they said the same thing, 1.1 million new jobs in Q1. A week after the election, it was adjusted down to only 10,000 new jobs for that quarter

Forgive me if I don't believe anything this administration says

I was laid off on Oct 31st when my position (and many others) was moved to Costa Rica. I was with the company for 9 years.

The job market is nowhere near good. I am seeing cuts in salary around 25%. It is frustrating.

Very true, along with a lot moving abroad. Couple a few doors down are selling it all and moving to Mexico. The have been retired 5 years and have had enough. Cant say I blame them and it is my plan when I hang it up, but not Mexico.

I just got back from Mexico last week. Landed in Cancun and went 45 minutes south to a resort. I would move there now if I could

One of the employees there was a man in his 60s that grew up in Laredo and Moneterrey and used to work for a competitor of mine back in the day in San Antonio. When he got the chance to move to the Yucatan and semit retire he jumped all over it.

I do speak pretty good Spanglish am a Gringo. And I can promise that Mexicans in Yucatan have no interest in diversity hires. But they are damn nice folks.

The couple I referred to above will be living on $3000/mo, could be less but they got a bigger house for visitors and a hobby room.

I mentioned it on the Business board, but look up Retire and Go on youtube. Pretty good info from Chris.

I don't know but if they dont Im going to be cashing out that year.

According to this guy it was reasonable enough(cost of living) to move there and work a side job in semi retirement. And he was never a big salary guy. Corporate auditor in San Antonio and taught English in Monterrey.

I just like the culture. Texans have a LOT more in common with Mexicans, especially northern Mexicans, than they do Californians or whatever. Not even close.

Cancun is a world wide destination. Much more than I realized. There were people from all over the world at our resort.

Good luck to you. I think being an expat would be fun.

Did you read the article or just post? Both of those are answered in the article. 71,000 government jobs.

"The February revision was just 5,000 lower while the January revision brought that total up by 27,000 to 256,000, still well below the initial estimate of 353,000."
