[Not really sure what it is about this subject, but OPs that post on this topic seem to not want to also include their own take on the subject with their OP. We will allow this thread to carry on, but it's a really simple ask for every user. Don't post an X post without your own summarized version of where you stand on the subject being presented through the X post. It does not have to be anything long. Just a couple of orginal thoughts on the main subject. Threads tend to do exactly what happened in this thread, they digress into other subjects having nothing to do with the subject of the X post. -Staff]
Not sure why Abbott jumped the gun and called at TAMU bc of 2 articles someone showed him without going directly to TAMU to verify. It was bs and the news outlets have been asked to retract the stories.

None of the stories have been retracted.
That's not what I said. I said it was report TAMU asked they be retracted or corrected. I guess no one saw the KBTX article . The university made the internal decision to stand down on the title IX changes the day before Abbott sent out a letter to all Tx schools to do the same.

Various news sources are saying that he is, pending the outcome of an investigation...BUT....

Sharp said TAMU would wait until the results of Ken Paxton's lawsuit were known before acting on Biden's new rules under Title IX. He did this before Abbott sent a letter to all state universities asking them to do what TAMU had done. Texas Scorecard got it wrong...again...and has yet to correct or take down their bull***** Which is pretty standard for them.

If you don't know by now, Texas Scorecard is in the outrage business and will report a bunch of false bull**** to make most of you feel like you feel right now. Texas Scorecard, no matter how much you might like what they have to say, is several steps below a credible news source.

That I don't know...but if he jumped the gun and gave info he wasn't permitted to the news...he should be. Especially in todays climate. Anyone who works for the University and tries to hang their neck out for anything DEI has to expect to get it chopped off. A rogue liberal faculty member is one thing...especially if they have tenure bc they're somewhat protected....but staff ....no way. I'd had to work in that office right now.
